" COULD BE SAND PEOPLE OR WORSE "

Personal hobby time has been a little sparse recently as I've got so much to do for the business, but have squeezed in a little time to get my test piece of a Tusken Raider on foot painted

Have started painting the other 3 I have, but aren't finished yet, then I had an idea to make a camp for them, as this could make for interesting scenario's but couldn't find a dome to start from that was the right size, so have gone right back to it's base structure and made a frame out of tusks to then skin for the structure. These I will be releasing through the site when finished. Also want to make a female and child to add to the camp.

Have also got a basic Jawa built, now you will notice he has no hands, this is so I can make multiple doing different things, for instance I will make one with a fan to add to Jabba's Palace, and one with the droid restraining device.

Have also started another denizen of Jabba's Palace Ephant Mon, now I could have just bought one from Tritex Games, but I've wanted to build this creature since I first saw him

OTHER BUSINESS
Have finished the next Grav Boarder, and here she is.

Have also got the first 5 Zodiac Warriors cast which you can now order by emailing me, available are the Monkey £4, Goat £4, Snake £4, Cockerel £4, and the Dragon £10 . Will let you know as soon as the others are ready, and should have painted versions to show by the end of the week.
Until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

    1. Thank you Michael, as the sand people are mostly robe, it needed the right amount of contrast and blend. and your definitely right can never have too many Jawa's as the seem to pop up all over Tatooine !

  2. An interesting collection of figures. I'm pleased you left the Jawas without hands so that you can add various options for them. Great dramatic pose on the Tusken Raider.

    1. Thank you Bryan, seemed the best idea for the Jawa's so I didn't need to build too many, will make a couple of other body variations as well. The tusken stance is straight out of the expansion box, and is a great sculpt

  3. Nice stuff all round Dave, great work on the Raider, the robes look very well done, Love the Jawa sculpt too, as you say there are such a lot of them milling about Tatooine. Beautiful detail work on the bottom of the hover board too.

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, have been playing with different colours to get the right feel for the robes, having several Jawa bodies without hands should mean I can get some good variation, the Grav boards are a great place to practice a bit of freehand

  4. That Tusken Raider is simply outstanding, Dave, what a great sculpt, and a terrific idea regarding the Jawa too. What an awesome collection of minis you’re currently putting together, mouth-wateringly good, imho :-)

    1. Thank you Simon, I'm trying to work on the premise of if I was watching a Star Wars movie, what would I see ? The thing that always springs to mind is exotic backdrops and tons of background characters that you may only see for a couple of seconds but you know their there. This means a lot of modelling for the set up, but should be worth it when gaming

  5. Ephant Mon is a great character! The comics showed him as quite the villainous swindler and manipulator. Bravo on how he looks thus far! And the jawa is just perfect.
