" FORGOTTEN HEROES MONGROL "

as this model is the size of three individual models, I thought it deserved a post all of his own.
The character of Mongrol started off with a limited vocabulary, which then got less until the point he wouldn't talk at all. This was until his beloved Morigunn died, at which point his mind readjusted and he was able to hold full and intelligent conversations, much to the surprise of his compatriots.

The model was built over a simple wire frame, it still has a couple of details that need to be finished, and I want to clean up some of the panels as well, but pleased with the overall look.

I used Clint Langley's art as the basis, as I felt his rendition was the best.

and here is a scale shot with Mad Ronn for scale

Many thanks to Roger for pushing me on this one, as I would have probably held him to last, as he's such a big daunting figure that I haven't seen a rendition I've liked so far.
Until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Oh, yes! One of your best sculpts ever, Dave. It is such a shame you can't sell these because of copyright reasons, which I fully understand. I'd be in the front of the queue for buying one. At least I was lucky enough to buy the Warlord Games version before he was withdrawn from sale. He is good, but yours is better!

    1. Thank you Bryan, we can but hope with their licence they release some A.B.C. warriors models, but by the time they do, I should have finished my own set anyrate. If they do should mean I've got some stats to play games with them, other than that I'll just have to write my own, as I fancy a game of the warriors Vs Imperial Rottweilers

    1. Thank you Roger, it was your inspiration that got him done as you really wanted to see me attempt this one.
Last year I contacted Rebellion about a licence before Warlord announced they had one, but never heard anything from them, shame really.
      Thanks for sharing on FH

  8. Nice work, Dave. Looks kust like the source material, although I didn't realise M9ngrol had such tiny legs!

    1. Thank you Jez, depending on the artist the legs got even smaller. Roger's and my least favourite was the version where he had two round stumps and paddle feet. At least Clint's version had the legs the same size as other robots in the group
