" MY LAST POST "

Before my holiday ! LOL Joking aside got on really well with completing some outstanding models before picking up the next expansion and ally packs.
First is three more characters from the expansions.

Have also finished the second of the hired guns.

Next up is two Imperial officers, I've got them done in different colours to the first one I painted to add variation.

Last up is all the Stormtroopers I need to finish for Azazelx Pqainting Challenge to finish a unit in October, you will see from left to right the different stages each model is going through, the models on the far right just need finishing details.

That's all for this post, hope to catch up on your blogs when I return, that will be a lot harder on some more than others ! LOL So until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Nice stuff Dave, I really like the first guy, don't recognise him so I'm guessing he isn't from any of the movies, lovely fig though, best of luck with the challenge, I stupidly have also signed up for it, and hope to complete the rest of my Dungeon Saga, minis for it this month too.

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, no he's not in any of the movies, one of the creations by Fantasy Flight Games, but a great figure none the less. Might be a big challenge as I'm away for 16 days of October, but would really like to get the Stormtroopers finished, before starting on the Death Troopers in the next expansion, being black shiny armour will be a test and may do a Death Star droid at the same time in the same way.
Good luck with finishing the Dungeon Saga

  2. Such a relief to see this is just your last post before you embark on your holidays and not your last post ever! Phew!!! All of your figures are extremely well painted but I couldn't name any of them and I had no idea that Storm Troopers came in so many different colours. As you can tell, I'm no "Star Wars" expert. So much has passed me by as I lost interest in the whole franchise.

    1. Sorry to scare you Bryan, in my defence I have a dark sense of humour ! LOL
If you don't play Imperial Assault the first four figures would be completely new to you, have enjoyed most of the Star Wars films and cartoon series apart from episode 7 & 8 With some of the newer movies we've now got tan coloured stormtroopers and black ones and a few new variants in style of armour as well. Can fully understand losing interest and missing so much, have high hopes for the new live action series and really hope that episode 9 improves the latest trilogy

    1. Thank you Simon, seems to be a bit of a constant at the moment, but it's where my personal hobby focus is at this time.
Looking forward to recharging the batteries and catching up with some old friends as well, ready to come back and crack on with more WTW wares

  5. Excellent work on these Rogues! Very nice skin tones on your aliens they have nice variation in colour. Enjoy your break! I watched Solo recently and quite like the dirty looking strom troopers that were in some of the battles. It crumbled my resolve a bit I must admit.

    1. Thank you Simon, like to vary the skin tones on aliens the same as with humans. Did enjoy Solo and added some great new armour variants and new ideas

    1. Thank you John, a lot of competition painters spend a lot of time on the faces to make it the main focal point, as I paint for my own enjoyment I tend to spend as much time on the rest of the model as I do the face, but always happy when they appeal

  7. Wow Dave! That selection of aliens looks so good!

A work colleague has been trying to convince me to get into Legion. But aside from needing a new project like a hole in the head, arent those minis larger than 28mm?

    1. O and, black uniform for TK officer, grey for Naval. Am sure you knew already, right? ;)
    2. Thank you Dai, yes legion is larger than 28 mm so don’t work with IA models but have been told it’s a good skirmish game. Your not wrong on the officers just wanted them to be different my third is in the green colour

    3. Aside from reading almost all of the Expanded Universe novels and Source books prior to... Revenge of the Sith being released (I think), my main sources for SW lore were the West End Games rpg books. Just fantastic wealth of info for SW nuts. Such a shame that Lucas (And now Disney) set aside such a treasure trove of "free" stories and developed factions/systems/species/cultures in lieu of their own good, but not nearly as good efforts.
    4. Indeed Dai, some of the expanded universe makes a lot more sense than 7 & 8 ! I mean who wouldn’t like to see vou Yong invasion ( sorry about the spelling)
