" OFF THE WORKBENCH "

Still very busy on the run up to Salute, but have finished casting all the parts for the gyrocopter in non flight mode
Just need to finish sculpting the two alternative arms, one with a snake and the other with a molotov cocktail, then need to finish the rotating blade effect and will be able to cast up some for Salute.

Have also been working on the Wyvern, hopefully will get it finished in time for Salute, very short post today so back to work for me, until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Great work on the Gyrocopter, that really looks the business now. The Wyvern is great too reminds me a bit of the Dragon/Dog thing from "Neverending story" only mean!

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, the joy of showing WIP shots you can see all the rough bits until finished it's only when it goes into paint you can call it done.
I see what you mean about the face, it's funny you saying about turning something mean, as I keep having this idea of making a truly nasty version of Stitch from Lilo & Stitch ! I really should get out more ! LOL

    1. Thank you Greg, the Wyvern is starting to take on a life of it's own now, shame you won't be at Salute, to be fair I see very little of the rest of the show.

  4. Now when I woke up this morning, I didn't think I needed a gyrocopter - just goes to show how week I am. :)

    2. You had me at 'alternative arm with snake'! Ticket bought and shopping list growing by the day! I see we have managed to avoid the DLR strike and the Marathon runners too, not that anyone every confused me as an athlete. :D Hoping to swing by and say hello.
    3. Will be great to meet you in person, the marathon runners really didn't like us wargamers getting in the way, so just as well their there on a different weekend ! LOL

  5. Both look fantastic, Dave. Sadly, Salute is too far away for me to attend but I console myself by thinking of all the money I'm saving. Who am I kidding? Of course, I'd love to attend and go on a mad spending spree!

  7. Whilst I have absolutely no need for the gyrocopter, i think it's a lovely model. I can imagine those who play Gaslands or Mad Maximillian will be queuing up to buy one. And the wyvern is stunning.

And as I seem to have been waiting for Salute for such a loooooong time, I can hardly believe it's only a couple of weeks away. Must bone up on my Death Match knowledge before then, otherwise I'll be a more of a hindrance than a help...lol

    1. Thank you Jez, can fully understand not kneading a piece but glad you appreciate the work involved.
Just over two weeks now for Salute and it seems like a long time has passed since we talked about you joining us for the big day, a brush up on the rules will definitely be a benefit ! LOL

    2. Its , ok here`s a tip Jez.... *whispers in his ear* You have to try and win... distract Dave to look away and move the pieces to more favourable positions when he`s not looking. ^^
    3. TUT TUT Steve, That's dishonest, LOW ! LOL

    4. Really.... you mean.... oh shucks. *psssst!!! Jez, ok, better rethink your strategy* hehe.
    5. As the next time I play DM in Dave's company, I will be demoining it at Salute, I won't actually be playing against him...but I will bear that in mind for future reference. "Dave,,,these are not the dice you are looking for...OMG, is that a limited edition 28mm Judge Minty?!" And...switch. 😉
    6. But Jez I have so many cool diversions I could dazzle you with in my room if we go down that route ! ROFL

    1. Thank you Simon, wanted to give people options with the gyrocopter so they could have it landed or in flight as you never know what use people will have for it.
Getting used to making dragons and think the scales are a very important part

    2. Is that the gyrocopter from the old Mel Gibson Mad Max film?

      mmmmmmmmm tasty.
    3. It's of a similar design, which is often used in Australia apparently, they have a thriving Gyro community out there
