So I've had an idea, I know there's a bloggers meet at Salute, but what I thought would be great is a day where we all meet up and enjoy being hobbyists, whether it be gaming, modelling or painting.
How I think this will work is if we get a list of all people interested together, then work out the most central location, so no one person has to travel further than others. Each person interested in coming then can say what they will bring games wise, if your the only person bringing that game you would need to bring two forces, so you can show why you like playing it to others and be able to play. I'm happy to run some sculpting demos if people are interested, or painting as well.
So what do you guy's think ? if interested put name location and game in the comments section, also feel free to share the idea on your own blogs as we all have different followers and can make this a better event. Once I've got an idea on numbers and locations I can start working on where to hold it, and what if any costs will be involved.
Here's my example :
Dave Stone, Gloucester, Death Match
OFF THE WORKBENCH
Have finally got the megalodon cast ready to release in August, the heat has really been slowing up casting, but glad it's finally finished, the model is 190 mm in length which equates to a 40 footer in 28 mm scale, so on the smaller end of the scale size wise.
Have also got the second Grav Boarder finished and started to make a display piece for taking to shows, will have enough room on it to display all six
That's all for today so until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

No problem mate, got you logged down
All up for this
Kent - Blood, Sweat & Horses (my board game)
No problem mate, hoped you would bring your game, and details logged
I love the idea of a bloggers' meet up but I'm going to decline, even though I'd love to attend. The problem is I live so far north it'll make travelling problematic. I know you said you'd try to find a venue that is as central to all participants as possible but if I attended that would increase everyone's travel distance. If you limited the event to the southern based bloggers it'd be much easier to find a venue that is more accessible to you all. I'm simply putting the needs of you others ahead of my own needs so that none of you have too far to travel. Gloucestershire, Hampshire and Kent are all pretty close to one another so finding a suitable venue shouldn't be too difficult. If I were to attend, you'd be looking at somewhere like Nottinghamshire for a central location, which means long travels for everyone. I do hope it all goes well and even though I won't be there in body I'll be there in spirit.
No problem on the Blogger's day, the travel part I'm not to worried about for myself, as you know I'll travel most places in the country, and it all depends who else expresses an interest. currently a central point would be Reading, which would actually take me longer to get to than Nottingham, didn't want to limit who could be interested by saying only southern based bloggers, although any bloggers from the other side of the pond would cause problems as we'd need a ship in the middle of the Atlantic ! LOL So maybe I should say UK based and if people want to travel over from other countries they are more than welcome
I'm certainly interested in a meet and gaming session. North and Nottingham area is obviously easier for me (not that I can drive), but should I be able to attend a southern get together I'd try my best to do so. I'm not set up to offer putting on a game, though I could probably supply my own troops, or some terrain, to play in somebody else's if needed. I'll see what people suggest.
The North of England. Preferably something skirmish-y, with not too many rules.
I don't see it being a problem with the game, as hopefully there will be enough different games in attendance.
The Meg! Film looks stupid, but your shark looks sweet!
The Meg film doesn't look the worst I've ever sat through ( that would be shark attack 1, 2, and 3) but they've seriously oversized it ! Glad you like the model
As for the meet up, sounds like a great idea, but I am sadly another of those "oop north" so will probably be too far out as Bryan says. Still would be happy to go (if it wasn't a weekend I was working, as sadly I have no idea of which they are as yet!!). I could run a couple of conversion help outs if anyone was interested? and slap about the greenstuff, if there was anything someone wanted help with (if I have a clue how to of course). And I'd be happy as Roy says to either jump in on someone else's game or if possible bring a suitable opposing force.
So...
Roger Webb, Liverpool, what I said above.
Cheers Roger.
No problem Roger I will add you to the list mate once I've got an idea of the number interested I can then start on when and where
Cheers Roger.
