THIS SECTION IS OCCUPIED

In the film Rogue One we were introduced to a new Imperial vehicle the TX-225 GAVw Occupier combat assault tank, not only did it have a devastating weapons array, but a load carrying capacity.

Now I was lucky enough to get this for my birthday, and I went for the colour scheme seen in the film, which involved a lot of chipping, and some dust weathering to tie it in to the in screen footage. I wish I'd had some of the weathering powders to do the dust, but had to do some carful drybrushing instead.

I've kept the storage containers separate so they can be used in multiple uses not just on the tank. On the base I've also added some ridges either side of the tracks to make the tank sit into the ground and add a sense of realism.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

RETURN OF THE FORCE

At the beginning of the month, while starting on the Apocalypse Me challenge, I also had a personal goal to finish the last 4 Star Wars figures I had, before my Birthday, just in case I got some new toys to work on, this involved finishing 4 WOTC models.

First was two Sand Troopers, now I tried two different colours for the dirt on these, one has the usual black dirt, and the other has flesh shade dirt, I actually like the flesh shade more so will probably do that on any more Stormtroopers I get.

I also got two scout troopers finished which both had the flesh shade dirt applied.

I was very fortunate on my Birthday and got many new Star Wars kits, and some I just couldn't wait to get started, firstly was Hondo Onaka the pirate, who appears in the Clone Wars cartoon and Star Wars Rebels cartoon, and even has a animatronic in the new Galaxy's Edge attraction in Florida, this version is from Rebels.

I also got Agent Kallus, which appears in Star Wars Rebels, I've gone for the helmeted version, with bow rifle in close combat mode, but has left me with some parts to help make, his rebel version.

I also got the new release of Yoda, which comes with two models in it, one in fighting stance and one in a more static pose, I think I will use the action pose in my clone wars games, and the static one, as a guide for my other games.

I got a few more kits which I will show and talk about once they're done, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

MINI ME

As I came up with the idea of doing a model of yourself in an apocalypse, then I had better lead by example.

Above is the green I made, now I approached it in respect of what I would I wear and arm myself with for a Zombie apocalypse. Clothing wise I went for overlapping layers on the clothes to lessen the risk of exposed skin to be bit, plus clothing that would stand up to a bite. So we start with a all in one long johns, then heavy denim jeans, with high leg army boots, then a reaper T shirt ( irony ! LOL) biker jacket, with biker gloves, the white collar would  be a homemade piece to protect the neck, if I was then going full out, I'd then put the biker helmet on as well, to protect the face but that seemed a copout in sculpting terms, plus I didn't fancy painting the design that is on my crash helmet ! LOL

Weapons I've gone with a machete, a combat dagger (on the belt) and modified my walking stick, would be a longer range than the machete. In the UK getting anything with range is a lot harder than it used to be, but a crossbow would be useful, for range attacks and quiet.

APOCALYPSE AND BEYOND

This week I've managed to get the tent and campfire, moulded and painted, so is now ready to go on the site for sale.

For the tent I've gone with a blue colour scheme for this one, but there is so many colours you could do them.

The campfire was simple enough to paint, and I used washes and glazes to add colour to the flames, to help keep the translucent feel of the resin.

While I had the above pieces in the moulds, I also got some spaceships moulded that Roger has been patiently waiting for me to finish. The first one above is the hornet, short range pursuit craft, inspired by the ships in the old TV series Blake's 7 for the Federation.

Next is the Tarantula class long range pursuit craft, also inspired by the Federation ships.

Last one today is the Liberation class alien corvette, this is a medium class battleship, and was inspired by the Liberator, from the TV series, although I wanted to go for a more alien technology look than the original. I cast this in translucent green to help the painting of the orb at the back.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

WHERE ARE WE GOING TO STAY ?

As scenery is now part of the Apocalypse Me challenge, I thought I'd use this opportunity to add to my scenery range, as Salute isn't far away, and having more new scenery wouldn't be a bad thing.

The first piece I've created is the first of 3 dome tents, this one is closed, the other two I want to do will be open with internal details. I will be casting these with a core to keep the weight down, and also the price.

What camp site wouldn't be complete without a camp fire, I shall be casting these in translucent yellow, to make painting the flame element easier.

Both are now sat in mould boxes, ready to make the moulds, as is some bits that Roger has been waiting for !

This is actually my 300 th post, although 121 of those were originally posted on another blog, and this little blog of mine has now had 50,000 visits, a huge thank you to all who visit, and to all your comments over the years.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

WANTED

The other night I was sat watching the film Wanted, starring James McAvoy. During the movie he googles his name and gets zero matches in the results. As I have seen the movie several times, I wasn't paying a 100 % attention, and thought why not have a go with my name.

One of the first results I found was in the original Star Wars movie one of the rebel pilots was played by David Stone, pictured above.

I also found a British sci-fi writer who writes both novels and comics, an American comedian, I also know of a Dave Stone who was an artist at Games Workshop, this all seemed ironic, with my love of all the subject material above ! LOL

As I continued down, I found an actor/ producer in America, while reading through his films, I saw he was credited with being in Strontium Dog a fan film. Now long time followers know that the Dave Stone in that movie is me ! The following day I tried to get in touch with IMDB to point out the oversight, first step was I had to register, to be able to contact them, at least they did a free 30 day trial. Once I got my account, I found a contact email and sent in the discrepancy, the long of it is as I don't have a page, as I'm never likely to be in another movie, they did nothing ! To say I'm disappointed with the result would be an understatement, but that's showbiz I guess !

me before they put the mask on !

For anyone who has never seen the film here is a link Search Destroy, it has won multiple awards, and was made by the two Steve's who are film makers. If you enjoy that you may also like their other fan film Judge Minty both films were welcomed by Rebellion, who produce 2000 ad the comic that the storylines are based on.

At the end of the day it was a great experience at the shoot, and one I will treasure always, as for a Hollywood star accepting credit for something he didn't do is pretty low in my books !

Next time I promise normal service will return, and back to more important things, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

APOCALYPSE ME

This month I am running another challenge, and is all about the apocalypse, this could be Zombie, post Apocalyptic, or alien invasion, or any other apocalypse you can think off, you can do survivors or antagonists. Jeff asked if I would include scenery, as he planned to do some this month, so I will be including scenery as well, this will also include vehicles like the splendid ones Roger has done recently.

So far the list of contributors are as follows :

https://phillipislandgamingsociety392176732.wordpress.com/

https://kuribospainting.com/

https://rantingsfromunderthewargamestable.wordpress.com/

https://pmpainting.blogspot.com/

http://angrypiper.com/

If any one else want's to take part just leave a comment below, and a link to your blog as well if I don't already follow you.

Now Matt is first out of the gate again with these great looking Zombies, and a likeness of an ex British Prime Minister who shall not be named.

If your already taking part in Zombtober, you are more than welcome to use your entries for both challenges.

If you really want to go all out you could make a conversion of yourself as a survivor in your chosen apocalypse. Below is one I did many years ago for my biker ranges.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !
