" OFF THE WORKBENCH AND INTO THE AIR "

Following on from last weeks post, I have some progress shots to show, but first up is something a bit different
" HERE BE DRAGONS ! "
I've started work on this years Salute dragon, now technically this one isn't a dragon as were doing a Wyvern, although Hollywood would disagree as they keep calling Wyverns dragons. There will be a scenic base to help display it in full flight mode, and will have a brass bar running through it, to make sure it's durable

" GYROCOPTER "
as you can see work is progressing on this and have been working on the optional pilot, there will also be a version of the pilot on foot available, hoping to have it finished before Salute and have some for prerelease at the show.

" AIRTRUK "
Also hoping to have these at Salute as prerelease, but all depends on time. The following pictures show how I've gone about the construction, incase anybody fancies building vehicles of their own, "Do You Want To Know More ? " if you'd like to have a detailed description just ask and I'll write one up, also a warning for anyone using Milliput, always use rubber gloves when using this product as it is a carcinogen which is absorbed through the skin.

In other news we have had the proof through of the Death Match printed rulebook, this has taken a while but finally getting my original idea together, just need to sort out boxed deals by Salute and I shall be a happy man.

That's all for this post, so until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Nice post Dave, with some eye-catching photo's and it's all taking off! :-)
The Wyvern looks awesome, the WIP flying machines are coming along nicely and the 'sneak peak' of the printed rulebook is excellent.
Thanks for the warning about Miliput - I've used it a lot over the years but was never aware of the hazard :-0 Just goes to show how we learn all the time! (I only recently learned the technique of working Miliput 'wet' to achieve a smoother finish), so "Do I want To Know More?" - I'm always willing to receive guidance from a master :-)

    1. Thank you Greg, it's always worth sharing information on health issues with as many people as possible.
Wouldn't say I'm a master but more than happy to share information, so will do an SBS guide on vehicle construction once I've finished it

  3. Amazing how many films have a Wyvern labelled as a dragon. Your wyvern is oooking cool mate

    1. Thank you Andy, your not wrong there, Hollywood very rarely actually makes a proper Dragon, probably as it would be harder to animate a six limbed creature over four, glad you like it, but I'm guessing your favourite is still the Oriental Dragon

    2. Always mate, you know it 😉
    3. Indeed, we all have our favourite type of dragon mines the coatyl

  4. Terrific post, Dave, with some fine eye candy on display. Right from a very early age, I learned the difference between a dragon and a wyvern. Wyverns don't have arms - dragons do. Simple, isn't it?

    1. Thank you Bryan, have liked all types of Dragons from an early age also, there is two types that don't fit the six limbed that are still called dragons, the oriental and the Coatyl both have other names also

  6. And there he (or she) is! Having seen this in the flesh, I can confirm that the Wyvern is both well-detailed and pretty darn big. A right old monster...

And nice work on your aerial contrivances. I now know what an Airtruk is, having been curious enough from your previous post to look it up.

    1. Thank you Jez, definitely bit of beast is the wyvern. The Airtruk is a very unusual looking plane, that was often used for crop dusting
