" ANOTHER YEAR DONE "

As the dust starts to settle Salute is over for another year, and we are already looking at what we can do better for next year. First I have to say a big thank you to the organisers for all there help to make it as easy as possible for me as I needed to use my wheelchair, and they gave me a great position for easy access in and out of the arena.
Next a huge thank you to Jez for coming along and helping me run the demo table, and all the cool ideas for world domination, hopefully he enjoyed seeing the vent from the other side.
So this was the stall all set up before the show started, we were right next door to the exit
And the demo game of Death Match all ready to play with display figures to it.
And this was the view Jez and I had of my stall from the demo table most of the day ! Unfortunately I didn't get any time to take pictures while running the games but hopefully a few will surface over the next week as there was a few people taking pictures while we gamed.
Very tired after the event, but ready to expand and hopefully have a few new things to show soon, until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Great to see both you and Jez yesterday, Dave. May your stall have done wonderously on the financial front :-) Thanks for putting aside my minis too, much appreciated and it was good to briefly talk to your excellent Missus too. Looking forward to next year already!!

    2. Ohhh... Thanks very much in advance, Dave :-)
  2. Wow. looks like you had a great show Dave, that is a big stall you had there. great idea having a pretty girl to man your stall (draw attention away from Jez! ;-) ). Hope you did really well on the financial front, and just out of interest, did you manage to get Jez to buy you a cup of tea, it's notoriously difficult you know :-) .

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, the stall has certainly grown over the years. The young lady in question is my eldest daughter, Sarah was also there manning the stall as well. Financially the day went well, actually didn't ask Jez for a coffee as I had brought a large supply of cherry coke to keep me going, will have to remember for future years if Jez fancies helping again ! LOL

  3. Great to read the show went well for you Dave, and all those with you. Were you sick of playing Death Match by the end of the day, though? :)

    1. Thank you Roy, to be honest I enjoyed every game I played, which must mean it's a good game. I lost track of how many games I ran, and I know Jez ran three more while I went and got the van

    2. Rightio Dave mate, just waiting for the phone to be rigged up with the new provider and bingo! Will be in business. Will email you as soon as its up and ready :)
  5. I can only apologise Dave, meeting up with you and Jez was most definitely on my 'to do' list. I must have walked past the stand several times looking for you! I asked Simon at the Bloggers meet up to point me in the right direction, but when I went over to say hello I rather bottled it and scurried off home! Did Jez have his head shaved fro the event, I only ask as I thought I saw him at one point, but just wasn't sure.

    1. No problem Michael, fully understand after reading your blog this morning. Jez was sporting a very neat shaved haircut, hopefully next year I will be able to find time to come to the bloggers meet up

  6. Congratulations to you and the crew on what sounds like a successful and enjoyable "Salute" Dave :-)
The 'winged beasties' certainly look an impressive size and sight perched atop the display stand and the demo game table looks the biz, as does the entire set up. I REALLY hope I manage to make it to one of the shows you're attending in the future!

    1. Thank you Greg, it was an enjoyable day even if it can be hard work. Would be great to see you at a show but understand it has to coincide with your work schedule

  8. I'd just like to thank you, Dave, once again, for allowing me the opprtunity to see Salute from a traders perspective. It certainly underlines the hard work and effort that goes into the preparation and setting up of the stall. I was glad I was of some help, although running a demo game of Death Match for Neil who wrote the rules was sligbtly surreal, as I was sure I was going to get something wrong.

    1. You are most welcome mate, and thank you for your help and ideas over the day and a half we spent together.
Neil actually posted on facebook, of how great it was to see the game looking so polished and refined, and how much him and his son enjoyed playing, so you obviously did well.
