KARABAST

Slowly making progress on the pathfinder squad, and have completed Pao the other alien that comes in the box. If you have seen the movie Rogue One you will have heard him shout "Karabast AT-AT", this was one of the four nods to the series Star Wars Rebels, as Karabast was Zeb's phrase for trouble.

The other 3 nods were the Ghost ship on Yavin 4, Chopper on Yavin 4, and an announcement on the PA asking for General Syndulla to go to the briefing room.

These two droids have never appeared in any of the movies, or series so far, but have appeared in the comics. BT-1 destructive assassin, and 0-0-0 specialized in pain.

I've used a bit of blue glaze to make the silver look like the artwork.

That's all for this post, still have another 3 pathfinders to finish, and work continues on their vehicle, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

TWO FOR MOVEMBER

This months challenge was to paint some models with facial hair, now I admit I don't have a lot of models with facial hair, but luckily there was two in the Rebel Pathfinder box set I got for my birthday.

First up is Bistan an alien seen in the film Rogue One, who has quite a lot of facial hair, tried to match the colours of the reference picture above.

The second model is a human pathfinder, couldn't find an exact match for him in the film, so used the same palette colour choices you see.

That's all for this post and challenge, and thank you to Simon, and Roger for hosting it. Next time will probably be some more pathfinders, as I have another four in the box set, and I'm also working on a vehicle for them to get around in, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

SALUTE 2020/2021

Have returned from Salute, and can safely say the world has not returned to normal ! LOL This has to be the quietest version of the show I have ever attended, this is in no way a criticism of the show organisers as everything was as professional as always, I just think it was a reflection of the current state of the world. the attendance was the lowest in all the years I've attended, with only 4,000 people attending, where it's normally around 8,000 to 10,000. A lot of traders who had booked space, and gaming tables were left open as they didn't come including some very big name companies in the industry.

One of the positives from the show was I got spotted by Beasts of War, and they did an interview with myself which you can see here https://www.beastsofwar.com/liveblogentry/weird-wonderful-terrain-from-wargames-terrain-workshop/#snav this is a very rare shot of me on camera, as I prefer to be hidden behind a mask, or not on camera at all ! LOL

I also got time to chat to Mike Foy, who runs https://www.youtube.com/c/FoybleBoardGaming/featured about the business, look forward to seeing what he has to say, when his post goes up.

Roger will be pleased to hear that I sold out of Liberation class destroyers by 11.30 am even though they weren't on the wracking, just from people asking for them from seeing them in the cabinet, who knew there were so many old school sci-fi fans like us mate ! LOL

One thing the show seriously highlighted was how bad my health has got, and how much of a strain on my body it is to attend the shows, so we are currently discussing what happens now, it may be that we go solely to on line sales, but will keep you all posted on what we decided.

That's all for this quick post, hopefully next time I will have something new to show you, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

APOCALYPSE ME ROUNDUP

Another challenge has come to an end, and now is the time for the roundup of what everyone did, and I have to say the quality, quantity and diversity was amazing.

First is Dave at https://phillipislandgamingsociety392176732.wordpress.com/ who completed multiple different types of zombies from Zombicide, an overpass piece of scenery survivors, a apocalypse version of himself, and a Zulk to name but a few.

Jeff added scenery and models for his Fallout gaming https://kuribospainting.com/ with some great attention to detail.

Roger over at https://rantingsfromunderthewargamestable.wordpress.com/ went full zombie for his entries, with each one having a back story on how they met they're end.

Matt at https://pmpainting.blogspot.com/ did survivors, zombies and scenery this year, and also added some back stories too.

Keith at http://angrypiper.com/ did an excellent repaint of an Heroclix model, and some great looking base work.

Simon at https://www.fantoricalwargaming.com/ worked on some Judge Dredd models which is an apocalyptic setting in itself, but chose to work on a storyline Judgement Day which is a zombie apocalypse

https://deadleadproject.blogspot.com/ did zombies and survivors over the challenge.

I didn't get a massive amount done for this challenge, as I am getting ready for my first show in 2 years, and there's a lot to get done, but I did manage a dome tent, camp fire, and a apocalypse version of myself.

Hope you all enjoyed the challenge whether taking part or just following along, so that's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave
