MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU

Yes it's Star Wars day again ( which is most days in my house) but this is the worldwide recognised one. Todays post could have been called Furry Nice, but I'll stick with the official one ! LOL First up is a conversion of Krrsantan from the spares I had from the Wookie warriors, I used one of the heads and a pair of arms which I had to modify, the rest was sculpted. As a character he fought in the Death Pits until he became a bounty hunter, his first Live Action appearance was in the book of Boba Fett, and was suggested by Azazael.

Next today is a full sculpt of Gunji, who was a Jedi apprentice during the Clone Wars, and survived order 66 and was returned to Kashyyk by the Bad Batch, which I have so gaming wise would add another scenario. this was suggested by Mr.Martin to do a Wookie Jedi.

Last today was a couple of Ewoks which I received as freebies in my recent order, now I'm not planning on doing Ewoks at the moment, but thought I would get them painted, so I am up to date with all my Star Wars models.

Here is a group shout to show the different sizes.

That's all for today, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU

This is becoming a yearly tradition for me, a Star Wars related post on Star Wars day, and even better if I can tie it into Monster May(hem), which this year I have, a Dewback for going outside my cantina project

Used the same color scheme as I did for the Stormtrooper ones I did earlier, with a little variation. The model is a 3D print in resin that my daughter got me as a thank you, which was extremely nice of her.

Earlier in the week I was a little bit slow to reply to comments, and comment on many blogs I follow, unfortunately my PC died, and had to wait for a new one to arrive, still trying to get used to it, and find all the bits I'm looking for, but hopefully I can except the change quicker than normal ! LOL Until next time, stay safe, and have fun!

MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU

Yes it's that time of year again to post up something Star Wars, for me that could be any day of the year normally ! LOL But I do like to try and have one for this day to join in with everyone else. So today I have the last Rebel squad from the Legion box set, I've swapped the arms around again, to add variation, some involved trimming pegs, and others just needed a little greenstuff to fill the small gaps.

As you can see above I have a female leading this squad, and what would normally be the leader carrying one of the heavy weapons.

I do like these models, but glad to finish this third squad, I only have one rebel box set to get now, the Rebel Commandos which is good as this shelf is getting very full ! LOL That's all for today, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU

For some people May the 4th is the day to celebrate all that's Star Wars, for me that's most days ! LOL I do like to show my support just the same. So what Star Wars goodies do I have today, well I've finally finished painting up all the mini busts from Phantom Menace, that I collected from a certain frosted cereal. First up is the two Sith no more no less, Maul and Sidious

Next we have the three Jedi, Qui Gon, Obi Wan, and Anakin Skywalker

Next is C3PO and R2D2

And lastly we have the two Gungans, Jar Jar, and Boss Nass (Dai skip past these ! LOL)

There was one more in the set, Padme, but I never managed to get hold of that one, so I am now calling these finished, for the rest of the month I will be concentrating on Monster May(hem), so until next time stay safe and have fun !

MAY THE 4 th BE WITH YOU

For the second year in a row, I've actually remembered to have some Star Wars models ready to post up on the Star Wars celebration day, and this year I was even organised enough to have models for Monster May(hem) that fit both criteria. Now on Keith's opening ceremony he said he looked forward to seeing what I come up with this year to surpass or equal the Krayt Dragon I did last year, and at this time I don't know that's possible, but will endeavour to see what I can come up with.

So I'm going to start small and see where it leads, so for my first submission I have a pair of Wampa's, for anyone who doesn't know what they are, they come from the ice planet Hoth, and are the planets apex predator. They first appeared in " The Empire Strikes Back", and in the original you barely saw it's face and a bit of an arm, when the extended versions were released, we were treated to a full shot of the creature devouring Luke's Tauntaun.

Below are the original face shot, and the full extended version, I've based my colours on the extended version.

What's that you say not enough for a celebration ! Okay with a recent order off of Ebay I received a bonus couple of models, two poses of the Mandalorian Armourer that featured in the series "The Mandalorian", this was a very pleasant surprise, but I thought I only really need one, so I'll paint up both, and then decided which one I'd use, and unsurprisingly I've gone for the action pose, so will pass along my good fortune and give the second one away.

You're still here ! But the credits are rolling and everyone is leaving. Oh you're waiting to see if there is an Easter Egg in the credits, okay here's one more for Monster May(hem). In the recent series " The Book of Boba Fett" there was a new creature shown in episode one, from a little bit of research I've found it's being called a Tatooine Sand Ape, as soon as I saw this creature, I knew I wanted one, as it would be a great random encounter in my games, and planned to build one. Then recently I spotted that someone was selling two versions of the creature, when the prints came through, the quality was excellent, no 3D lines, and no clean up, which meant I could get straight onto painting them. I've tried to match the colours, and used multiple different glazes to get all the different tones I spotted in the reference picture to come through.

Okay that really is all now, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

MAY THE 4 th BE WITH YOU

As it is the official Star Wars day, I thought it only appropriate that I did a Star Wars post. Now you may be wondering with my love of Star Wars I haven't done this before, that's easy I'm terrible at remembering to save a post, or get too impatient and post up too early ! LOL So will this become a yearly thing for me, hopefully but will have to see if my mind want's to play along !

First up today is a WOTC repaint of Biggs Darklighter, this was a surprise gift from my good friends at Minaturemen, they know of my passion for this subject ! Originally there was a scene where Biggs and Luke are looking through a set of bino's at the capture of the Tantine IV, but was deleted from the final cut.

Next is another WOTC repaint of a Gamorrean Guard, I got this model recently as apparently there was 8 in Jabba's Palace, and Fantasy Flight Games put 4 in the expansion set, I was hoping it would be larger than the FFG ones but it is the same size, I think I'll try some 3D printed ones to fill in the last 3 spots.

I've also managed to finish the last 2 Nikto greens I needed, this first one is Giran, who can be seen consoling the Rancor Keeper after his pet is killed by Luke.

The next one is Yotts Oren, who was one of the guards on the second skiff when they rode out to the Sarlaac pit.

Keeping with the skiff guards, this is Brock Starsher, who was the first one killed by Luke when he reached the second skiff.

I've also got the pilot of the second skiff done Pote Snitkin.

Speaking of Skiffs I recently purchased this 3D print of one from gamerforge on ebay. The model was a good print, and I didn't bother trying to fill the lines, just painted it, as the worst of the lines was on the underside.

While I was working on the above skiff, I finally got round to finishing the one I started scratch building many years ago. The boarding plank was designed and made to retract, but since painting it, I've been nervous of scratching the paint, so will probably leave it out.

Now I can hear some of you saying " But Dave it's  Monster May(hem) and none of these models count", agreed so here are 2 more Banthas that I've finished this month towards my goal

I thought a cinematic shot of these pieces would be a great way to round off the post today. I'm hoping to get a big Star Wars creature done this month for the challenge, but will have to see how that goes.

So until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave
