" SABRETOOTH AND COMICS "

As promised here's the finished sabretooth I have completed for heroes of the darkage , and the original we sculpted for them
With my health not being great at the moment, I've had a bit of time to paint up a model I made of Fergie from Judge Dredd story the Cal war, I've made him true scale to the story so he is over a head taller than the judges.
Keeping with comic characters, I thought I would show some I built a while ago, first up is Johnny Alpha
His partner Wulf Sternhammer
And their friend and medic the Gronk
Now some of you will know my favourite story in 2000 ad was the A.B.C. warriors, and I want to build all the incarnations of the Meknificant Seven, this is a long term project but I thought I would show the first one Ro Jaws
I don't know which I'll build next it all depends on how the muse descends, so until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Fabulous Dave and the previous post, which I seem to have missed. Ro Jaws was always my favourite and what a great job you have done on yours.

    1. Thank you Michael, Ro Jaws was always such a strong character, from his time in Ro-Busters and then in the A.B.C. warriors where he has the key to robot safety, what's not to like

  2. Well that is spooky timing Dave, I've just collected a package from your excellent self from the local Post Office and it contains one of your excellent Fergie models :-) Many thanks indeed for sending me it, it really knocks the stuffing out of the original "Mongoose Miniatures" sculpt!!

    1. No problem Simon, my one regret with the model was sculpting so many badges I had to paint ! LOL

  3. Ro-Jaws is excellent Dave, as a fellow ABC Warriors fan can I just say "Mongrol!!!!!" next please, when you say the full crew, will this include the peripheral characters like Mad Ron, Happy Shrapnel, etc..

The other 2000AD character's are fab too.

I do like that sabretooth, so will you not be selling this yourself or will it only be available through "heroes of the darkage"?

    1. Thank you Roger, yes I intend to do all the different characters that made up the 7 including Nemesis and Purity and even the Blitzspear.
Mongrol is high on the list and going to use Clint Langley's rendition from the Volg wars.
I won't be selling the sabretooth just heroes I'm afraid

    1. Thank you Bryan, most of the Warriors will be based off of Clint's renditions apart from Deadlock which I prefer the Kronicle of Chaos look

  6. Blooming 'eck, Dave, there's lots to look at in this post. I really like how you've painted Fergie (I've never heard of him, but that's nothing new!)

    1. Thank you Roy, you know what they say " no rest for the wicked ! " I think I must have been Genghis Khan in a previous life as I always seem to be majorly busy ! LOL
Fergie was an interesting character that even though he wasn't part of Mega City One, he became the hero of the Cal Wars and had a statue put up to commemorate his sacrifice, and was the king of the Big Smelly as well ( really need to read the comic to understand that one ! )

  8. Unfortunately, the Fergie figure you kindly gave me didn't make it home in one piece. Although wrapped in bubblewrap, the baseball bat had snapped off by the time I got home. Time to get out the glue, I think.

    1. Sorry to hear he didn't make it back safely, if it makes you feel better I broke mine after taking the picture as well, got one part fixed and need to green the other, when I have time

  9. My Fergie is a prize possession, and I have big plans for him in my games (once I find out my D20 JD rules again). Hes painted and looks coooool. I dunno but I may have gotten the first one you ever made hot off the press, I was so chuffed I remember.

    1. It was the second off the press mate, and glad you have found enjoyment with it. I've got a couple more to send out when I have time, then add the mould to the never to be touched again pile ! LOL
