" FORGOTTEN HEROES INTO PAINT "

Have got the first two models of what's turning into an ever growing project into paint.
First up is Hitaki, the colour reference for this model was very limited so went with the cover art I showed at the start of the project. To get part of the comic feel around the eyes of being in shadow I used brown then black washes until I got the desired effect

Next up is Mad Ronn, who I took the reference from the same picture, On his shoulder pads I hand painted the ABC but went with simple yellow dots to represent the stars
That's all for now, so until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Awesome, Dave, simply awesome... They are stunning and look as if Bryan Talbot himself had just pencilled them (my fave “Nemesis The Warlock”/“ABC Warriors” artist btw). Definitely one of your sculpting/painting highlights of the year :-)

  2. Thank you Simon, glad I could do your favourite artists work justice, so who was your favourite warrior ? As I know who Jez and Roger's are

    1. Happy Shrapnel - Doesn't get a lot of love or attention, but I was always in awe of a robot with a beard :-)
    2. Good call Simon, prefer Clint's version but an interesting character

  3. Excellent paint jobs, Dave. I can't wait to see the whole group all together and painted up.

    2. That's a difficult question to answer as I like all of them but for different reasons. If I had to chose just one I'd go for Morrigun, simply because we rarely see female combat robots and I always like strong female characters.
    3. I know what you mean Bryan, I would find it hard to pick just one. Morrigunn was an interesting character to watch develop

  4. Stunning work Dave! I'm also immensely looking forward to seeing the whole group, but before you ask, I never got into the ABC Warriors enough to have a favourite ;-)

    1. Thank you Greg, will slow up on building the rest of them, as I really need to concentrate on business stuff for a while. No problem fully understandable on not knowing them that well

  5. Great stuff Dave. perfect matches for the comic book versions, looking forward to see the others, though you can take your foot off the gas a bit now as you have met the criteria for "Forgotten heroes" and have finished at least one figure in the month (wish I could say the same!).

Have re-posted this to the FH site.

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, sorry to hear that yours aren't finished yet, still got this week though. I probably won't get too many more finished as I have a lot more work to do this week than expected! LOL

  7. Excellent work, Dave. As Simon said, they do look like they've stepped directly out of the comic.
