FORGOTTEN HEROES PART 3

 WIND RIDERS

As I continue on with this years submissions for forgotten-heroes-2021 I've been working through some of the Windriders of Enfys Nest, I've gone for this part of the rebellion, as I have found a lot of figures which would work for Saw's Rebels, but nothing for this faction.

Auromae Iselo is the first one I've done, the reference picture above has details about her.

Above is the green I made, as you can see she is all Greenstuff.

The painting of her was fun, and threw in some challenges to match the colour scheme.

Next is Weazel, this was not the first time this character had appeared in a Star Wars movie, as he appeared in "The Phantom Menace" as a spectator in the crowd at the Pod Racing.

I utilised plastic rod to help construct his rocket launcher on this one.

Painting was challenging on this one, as even though the model is smaller, it has just as much detail as the full size models.

Above is a group shot so far, and shows the different heights between the characters, I have another 6 of the Windriders on the go at the moment, 2 that I've started to paint, 2 that need finishing details sculpting, and the last 2 are in the blocking stages, once I finish the painting on the first 2 I'll make frames for the next 2.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

FORGOTTEN HEROES 2021 Part 2

 REBEL FACTIONS

As I continue on with submissions for Jez's forgotten-heroes-2021 I wanted to look at some of the other Rebel factions as well as the crime syndicates. When we were first introduced to Star Wars, it was a tale of two sides, Imperial or Rebels. Later on through series and additional films, we found that not all Rebels were the same, and some were even considered radicals like Saw Gerrera.

Saw was originally shown in the film Rogue One, then appeared in the Clone Wars series, and also appeared in the series Star Wars Rebels, more recently he has appeared in The Bad Batch as well.

For the time period I've set my gaming, I've gone with the shaved head version, and he hasn't got all the cybernetic implants that you see in Rogue One.

some of the details on the armour were painted on rather than sculpted in detail.

Another Rebel Faction we got introduced to was Enfys Nest and her Windriders, these appeared in the movie Solo, and were portrayed as thieves, until late in the movie.

The sculpt on this one had lots of little details that needed to be added, to give the overall look.

As with Saw some details were painted on, and gave me lots of opportunity to work on my freehand.

that's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

FORGOTTEN HEROES 2021

This year for forgotten-heroes-2021 run by Jez, I'm going to work on some more characters for my Star Wars project, instead of delving into comic book characters like I have in previous years.

Above is a reference picture of the first character Moloch, this character was seen in the Solo movie, and was the main character in Lady Proxima's crew.

Above you can see the green I sculpted to represent the character.

And here he is all painted, the main areas were achieved with a sponge, as the reference showed a very mottled approach.

For the rest of the event, I'm hoping to work on some more models from the syndicates, and also some of the other Rebel factions.

YELLOW & ORANGE

Several other bloggers have been having problems with painting yellow & orange so here is a step by step guide to several techniques. All paints used are Games Workshop unless stated otherwise

STEP 1 from here on I will refer to the one on the left as 1, going up to 4 on the right. 1 & 2 were given a basecoat of  Yriel yellow, 3 was given a coat of Vallejo rosy flesh, and 4 was given a coat of fire dragon bright.

STEP 2  1 was then given a coat of Iyanden Yellow contrast paint,  2 was coated with Fuegan Orange wash, 3 was highlighted with vallejo elf skin, and 4 was given a wash flesh wash.

STEP 3  1 & 2 were highlighted with Yriel yellow, 3 was highlighted with Vallejo pale flesh, and 4 was highlighted with fire dragon bright.

STEP 4  1 & 2 were then highlighted with a mix of Yriel yellow and Dorn Yellow, that was very watered down, 3 was given a wash of yellow wash, and 4 was highlighted with Tau light ochre.

Now you can vary tones by changing washes to make the contrast less or more, all down to personal taste.

That's all for this post so until next time stay safe and have fun !

DO OR DO NOT, THERE IS NO TRY

I had hoped that I would get two more monsters done for Keith's Monster May(hem) but things didn't go as I had hoped, between other commitments, health and waiting for greenstuff to dry enough that I can handle the model, I only managed to get one done.

Above is the Wort, that is seen outside of Jabba's Palace, in "Return of the Jedi". This was a pretty simple sculpt as effectively it is a spikey frog.

I've also managed to get the last two Rodians done for Jabba's denizens, Beedo, and Revidjasa. Now you may think they look just like Greedo, and you'd be right, in the extended version, of "New Hope" there was multiple of these waiting at the Falcon with Jabba.

I've also managed to get the last 3 Gamorrean Guards I needed done, these were off of Ebay, and were 3D prints, some of the detail was a little shallow, especially the straps on the sandals, but managed to paint them in okay.

Lastly today is a conversion of Captain Rex from 501 st Clone Army, who after the war, would sling for Joopas, until recruited by the Star Wars Rebels team. The top half was all clone parts I had spare from my Legion stuff, and the legs came off a 40K Cadian. The barricade behind was a test piece, with the Rebels graffiti sign on it, Some Imp is going to be in trouble for that ! LOL

Next month is Forgotten Heroes month, and this year I'm not going for comic book characters, as I'd really like to concentrate on my Star Wars project, so expect more Star Wars goodies to come.

So until next time stay safe and have fun !

CREATURE FEATURE

Using Keith's Monster Mayhem I've been trying to get through some creatures I need or want for my Star wars project, I'm hoping these will still count in the challenge, but with their small size can understand if they don't.

This set of 3 creatures are all denizens of Jabba's palace, at the top left we have Ghoel, who at one point is seen licking C3PO.

On the the left is Attark, who I have still yet to spot during the scene

And finally on the right is a Rock Wart, who again I'm still yet to find.

While I've been working on these I have got two more denizens finished on the left is Harc Seff, and the right is Leslomy Tacema, who I only found by chance when looking up Ephant Mon, It also showed an Aqualish that I haven't found a name for yet.

To finish off today I have a creature that is talked about often, but so far has not appeared in either the big screen or small, the Wamp Rat, now when Luke describes bullseyeing them from his speeder he say's that they are not much bigger than 2 meters, from a snipers perspective that would be the head and body as the tail would be a thin small target, so I built this one on that sort of scale.

As I've only got artists impressions I've put my own spin on the creature, but kept the twin tail and four ears.

That's all for this post, working on two more creatures that I hope to finish before the end of the challenge, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
