In my recent Market Street post, Roger asked what a Gorg was, as I said I was planning on doing a Gorg Stall, at the time I said they were a type of Amphibian /lizard, but I've done a bit more research and can confirm they are in fact an Amphibian. They come in multiple different types, and a lot of them are actually native to Tatooine, which would fit as the planet was once covered in water. Some species come from Naboo, and are imported in, which will make those more expensive, as will the rare species. Their main predator are Worrts (the creature outside Jabba's Palace, that belched).
So now we know what they are, here is my stall, the design of the stall has elements of Graga's the Gorg Monger, but I've changed bits as well, to suit my gaming, the main construct was made with plasticard, and plastic rod, the cutting board is a piece of balsa, and the fan on the top was made from plastic strip, and a bit of greenstuff.
The sign on the front say's no Gungans in Aurebesh, and yes I purposely misspelt it, as they may not know how to spell it ! LOL
Below are some of the reference pictures I used for the Gorg's
Now I need to start on some Rugs and fruit, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !
Cheers Dave

Gotta have a Gorg seller! Love it Dave! Great attention to detail as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, that was my thinking ! LOL Needed elements that were recognisable to any one who had seen the movies.
DeleteAgree, great stuff!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michal, slowly getting there.
DeleteBrilliant! I love it when you bring to life this wonderful extras.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael, the end result I'm aiming for, is a living breathing city, where ever you look there is something going on ! LOL
DeleteWell those are thoroughly disgusting, and all a bit too French for my liking 🤔.
ReplyDeleteSo
Super work as always, and informative to, I shall impress my friend at work tomorrow with my knowledge as he's another Star Wars fanatic.
Cheers Roger
Thank you Roger, as they'd been seen on Tatooine had to include them ! LOL Glad you found the information useful, and can start a conversation with it.
DeleteFantastic attention to detail, Dave! I didn't know Gorgs by name but I recognized them from the images you provided immediately. They are a charming addition to your extensive Star Wars collection. Its another step towards "Museum" level quality in my eyes because no detail is left unrepresented which is truly impressive!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, glad I could put a name to the image for you. Hopefully the rest of Market Street, and the sellers will continue the level you describe, I have made a change to one of the stalls I listed and instead of a jewelry stall, it will now be Droid Parts, which should fit well with the Jawa sellers around the corner ! LOL
DeleteNicely done, Dave! :-) Not sure I'd want to buy from this stall mind you! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you John, not keen on a amphibian diet then, she promises she washed her hands ! LOL
