DO OR DO NOT, THERE IS NO TRY

 I had hoped that I would get two more monsters done for Keith's Monster May(hem) but things didn't go as I had hoped, between other commitments, health and waiting for greenstuff to dry enough that I can handle the model, I only managed to get one done.


Above is the Wort, that is seen outside of Jabba's Palace, in "Return of the Jedi". This was a pretty simple sculpt as effectively it is a spikey frog.


I've also managed to get the last two Rodians done for Jabba's denizens, Beedo, and Revidjasa. Now you may think they look just like Greedo, and you'd be right, in the extended version, of "New Hope" there was multiple of these waiting at the Falcon with Jabba.



I've also managed to get the last 3 Gamorrean Guards I needed done, these were off of Ebay, and were 3D prints, some of the detail was a little shallow, especially the straps on the sandals, but managed to paint them in okay.


Lastly today is a conversion of Captain Rex from 501 st Clone Army, who after the war, would sling for Joopas, until recruited by the Star Wars Rebels team. The top half was all clone parts I had spare from my Legion stuff, and the legs came off a 40K Cadian. The barricade behind was a test piece, with the Rebels graffiti sign on it, Some Imp is going to be in trouble for that ! LOL

Next month is Forgotten Heroes month, and this year I'm not going for comic book characters, as I'd really like to concentrate on my Star Wars project, so expect more Star Wars goodies to come.

    Lovely work Dave, especially the paint-jobs on the Gamorrean Guards - my fave Star Wars alien by far - blimey did I love my Kenner action figure!!! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for Forgotten Heroes, particularly as it'll be more Star Wars.

      Thank you Simon, who doesn't like a big green pig alien ! LOL They were a great costume at the time and added another element.
      Could go one of two ways for FH famous Rebels, or Crime Syndicates, or both ! LOL

    Just time to squeeze in a last one! I've been waiting for you to present that "frog" from Jedi as he is more prominent than some of your other beasties! lovely work as always mate, looking forward to what Star Wars goodies you come up with for Forgotten heroes now.

      Thank you Roger, thought I was going to fail to get this one up, but just managed it. It has been in my reference pics for so long, it was time for him to shine, and as you say, he had his own scene, so would be rude not to make him ! LOL

    Once again Dave your sculpting on these SW critters is excellent. Love that Wort! I can hear it burping from here

    Great stuff Dave, another masterclass 😀 The Mandalorian didn't really do a lot wrong, but I did feel that they missed the mark with the Gamorrean Guards, especially the legs - you've nailed the likeness though! Really love Rex too, an absolute favorite of mine - I really hope that we can see him in one of the new live action shows coming up 🤞

      Thank you Ivor, I listened to their reason for the difference between them, and it made sense, but I do still like the originals. Rex is a great character, and bridges so much of the timeline. I guess our best chance of him turning up will be in Ahsoka

      They wanted to do a leaner version, as if Jabba's ones had over indulged, and were a bit fat and lazy ! LOL

    I love the Wort, Dave. Unlike the other denizens of Jabba's palace, I remember him quite well. Fantastic sculpting and painting. Thanks again for really going all-out in the challenge.
    Those Rodians remind me...I have an Imperial Assault Greedo to paint! ("Ooo-ta Goo-ta, Solo?")

    As always, Dave, you've knocked it out of the park. I love the Wort, and the two Rodians are excellent. You're doing a better job of these figures than some of the official Star Wars stuff!

    The Wort looks great, as do the Rodians - but I really love those Gamorrean Guards. They were always a firm favourite of mine when I was a kid! Back in those days, I also used them for fantasy games as Trolls (while the Ugnaughts were pig-faced D&D-style Orcs!)

      Thank you Azazael, glad you liked them, great way to utilise models in other genres and settings to mate. Whenever I'd see Gamorrean Guards, I always had the adventure from the Muppet Show spring into my head, "Pigs in Space" and couldn't help but smile

    Very cool as usual. Rodians are fun aliens to plug into anything Star Wars and its neat to see the frog thing in the "comedy" scene from Return of the Jedi. Its so neat to see all of these minis you're sculpting and painting. When I was a kid, I'd never believe someone could do something so cool all on their own :D

      Thank you Jeff, I do like how they have added in other colours to Rodians recently not just the green, so hope to do one in different colours soon. When I was a kid, I always wanted the entire scene of characters, but they didn't do all the action figures back then, so has been a childhood dream of mine
