I'M SORRY SIR YOUR LUGGAGE SEEMS TO HAVE ENDED UP IN ANOTHER GALAXY !

For my last post for the challenge I have a couple more vehicles today, first is the Starspeeder 1000, now if any of you have been to a Disney theme park, you may recognise this vehicle from the Star Tours ride, and may have even taken a trip on one. The model is a 3D filament print that my wife got me for our anniversary, the colour scheme I've gone for is the version you see in Florida.

The model actually came with the European symbol on the front, but I covered it with some plasticard and greenstuff, and then painted the correct symbol on the front. I haven't gone with my normal weathered look, as the filament print was so rough that adding washes and glazes would have shown it up more. I've also got another speeder painted the V-35 that appeared in the original movie, and then had a bigger scene in the extended version of New Hope, as the filament print on this one was a lot smoother, I've weathered it up to look like the movie version.

That's all for todays post, I will be doing the challenge round up post in a couple of weeks to allow everyone time to get there last models posted up ( just make sure to mark it on your post that they were completed by the end of February) so until next time stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

    1. Thank you snapfit, because of my OCD I have a real need to match the reference, the bonus from it means I'm constantly looking for new techniques to add to my repertoire ! LOL

  2. Nice work on both, but the first one is particularly impressive. Really great!

    1. Thank you Suber, it was certainly the harder of the two to do, due to the roughness of the surface, and make the patterns look straight ! LOL

    1. Thank you Phil, wanted to have both of these for a long time now, and managed to find both in short succession, the painting was also fun if a little challenging in places ! LOL

    1. Thank you Stewart, my son actually enjoyed going on it last year, whereas the previous time we went he didn't like it at all, he also enjoyed rise of the resistance, and smugglers run, so he's getting better with the rides (just not Tron ! ) Still need to find a lot of the Imperial vehicles, and a Y-Wing, so more to come when I can find them ! LOL

These are brilliant, Dave! :-) Nice paint schemes - a good call leaving the first one clean and the second one looks really good with its weathered look!

    1. Thank you John, literally just trying to copy from the reference, for how clean it is I put it down to having a steam clean after every flight so it looks presentable for the next set of passengers ! LOL

  6. That is really cool to see the Star Tours ship! I really like that ride and have been lucky enough to ride it quite a few times. If I'm not mistaken, that second landspeeder was something you could purchase and ride around in the computer game, Star Wars Galaxies. That is one of my favorite games of all time so I'm glad you added that to your collection as well!

    1. Thank you Jeff, back when I was able I rode all six cars in one day, which was fun seeing all the different rides ! LOL For such a small part in the original film the V-35 seems to get everywhere ! LOL Glad you like it, it's been one I wanted for ages.

  7. Awesome stuff again Dave - the paint on the Shuttle immediately suggests Star Wars, and you've pulled it off perfectly. The weathered speeder really looks the part. We'll have to see your Star Wars Motor Pool all shot together some day!

    1. Thank you Azazael, as I was just following a colour scheme, the hardest part was getting the lines in the right place ! LOL I was thinking I was going to have to build one, so was happy that I found a 3D print, and could concentrate on the painting. I'll see what I can do on group shots as my photography isn't great ! LOL

    1. Thank you Luke, I do like to find the more obscure pieces to fill this realm, not just the mainstream ! LOL

  9. The PLA prints look really great, I didn't even notice the lines the first time around, which is also a result of your paintjob not highlighting it.

    1. Thank you SD, I did try to detract from the lines, and also used unthinned paint in the hope that it may fill some of the smaller lines, I also painted across the grain rather than with it, to help fill them as well ! LOL

  10. I know I've heard that quote before, but can't place it! Hitchhikers? Space Quest? Spaceballs? At any rate, both of those vehicles look awesome. I think the shuttle looks just fine without the washes too, good call on your part!

    1. Thank you Brian, I think you may be right with Spaceballs, but it's been a long time since I watched that movie ! LOL It was the only call I could make with how deep some of the lines were, but would have liked some weathering, even if it was just a little ! LOL
