THIS IS NO CAT LADY

One of the cool models I got for Christmas was this 3D print of the Togruta elder that appears in the series Jedi Tales in Ahsoka's village, for me I'm just going to use her as an old lady on Tatooine, I've painted her in the colours from the series, and have included the reference below.

Next today I have a squad of rebels from the Legion core box, as I've already painted a squad of these in the past, I swapped the arms round to add variation. I didn't look at the colours I used on the previous ones, and just used my normal palette of colours, I did give them all white gloves to mark out the squad.

Last today is a couple of Swoop Bikers, the kit comes with multiple heads and weapons, which will help on future conversions, the one on the left I used the head that closely represents the swoop biker that caused the Ronto to rear in the extended version of a New Hope. You can use the bikers as mercenaries or gangers, but I'm just going to have them as citizens riding around, probably scaring Jawas ! LOL

That's all for today, hopefully next time I should have the X-34 landspeeder done, but we'll see, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

These are all spot on, Dave! :-) I know I have a soft spot for bikes, but the Togruta lady is brilliant!

    1. Thank you John, as you know I'm a bike person too, but agree the little old lady brings a different element into the game, although I may have to sculpt a lot of non combatants ! LOL

  3. Its nice to see some rebels to balance out all of the imperials you just finished. This probably won't surprise you but I recognized the swoop drivers immediately. That is excellent attention and detail and its cool that you could recreate them. Now when Jabba's Palace is done, Mos Eisely can be your next big project! ;)

    1. Thank you Jeff, on my shelves the Rebels far out weigh the Imperials at the moment, so expect to see a lot more Imperials at some point ! LOL the right head for the right style bike wasn't designed to go there, so I had to make a little modification, unfortunately the outfit isn't right, so I tried to use colour to make it look closer ! LOL That is the plan, the only rooms I still want for Jabba's Palace are the cells, and robot torture area, and now I know what it looks like the kitchen, the hanger is way too big to do, and Jabba doesn't seem to use his bed chamber so probably wont bother with that one ! LOL

    1. Thank you Stewart, starting to get into a good flow at the moment, and it's mostly finishing details left on a few squads, so hopefully I can keep it up ! LOL

    1. Thank you Suber, she is the stand out in this batch for me to, as she needed a lot more work to replicate the reference.

  7. Great work all around! You've matched the reference picture of the lady perfectly with your painting.

    1. Thank you snapfit, it took some serious mixing of paints, but glad it translated to the reference.

  8. More great additions to your Star Wars collection, Dave. I think the squad of rebels are my fave, but the rest are splendid too. Your attention to detail on the old lady is excellent - with the colours you've used giving aspects of her clothing that worn/slightly faded look you can see in her design pic.

    1. Thank you Simon, I have another unit of those to do yet, but I've swapped their arms differently to these, to add variation. Glad the ageing of the clothes comes through, as it was an aspect I wanted to convey.

  9. Nice work on the rebels, and they look great against the ruined ship background. You probably are familiar with the comic artists Jean Giraud (Möebius), he used conical like hats pretty often. Reminds of the one on that swoop biker. He also did storyboards/design for the film Willow.

    1. Thank you Brian, now I have the crashed ship I may as well get the use out of it ! LOL I recognised the name, but couldn't think from where until you wrought Willow ! LOL

  10. Well! I guess we know what happened to Shaak Ti after escaping Order 66! All those flips must certainly take their toll on your joints after awhile. I bet her and old Ben regularly sit out front of the coffee shop in the Mos Espa shopping cente and reminisce about old times...
