You know what Doc I'm feeling much better, I'll pop back later ! LOL The sort of conversation you could imagine when your Doctor is a Mantalid. I've tried to incorporate elements of all the great suggestions for the colours of this creature, so I've got elements of brown, elements of green and white, and I've done all the pouches in white as well, except for the gun pouch which I've done in the standard grey for this squad.
I've also got the Nusco painted, to help show it's alien instead of white, I've done a creamy bony colour, and highlighted the black with blue, instead of the normal plain black.
Lastly here is a group shot of the seven painted so far.
Already started Gunbot, and Gun Drone, but thinking I want two of each, plus some spy drones which I'll use the ones from my Future City Scenics range. That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Davw
Great looking additions to your crew, nicely finished!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, really enjoyed this project so far, and looking forward to doing some gaming with them.
DeleteSplendid stuff, Dave. I especially like the group pic at the end - very colourful. More to come too eh..? Clearly a project which has captured your imagination. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, wanted a group that had a Varity of colours, plus gives me change to try out lot's of new colour schemes and techniques ! LOL There is three more crew, and then the robots, of which there will be 8 in total, then I want their landing craft, as a starting point for any scenario, or if they need to bug out quickly ! LOL
DeleteThese have painted up really nicely Dave! :-) I would not want to be treated by that medic mind you!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, they were fun to paint. It would be a worry is she going to treat me or eat me ! LOL
DeleteMantalid colouring is spot on! And no, she's not touching my owie with those claws!
ReplyDeleteNusco is exactly as I'd imagined in my brief minds concept! My fav of the team easily!
Thank you Dai, I took elements from all the different versions I could find, based on all the colour suggestions I got, I reckon she would blend into the trees easily. She has such a gentle touch really ! LOL
DeleteGlad I could take your inspiration, and make it a reality, and bring him to life as you envisioned, I'd be hard pressed to pick a favourite so far ! LOL
Smashing work mate the colours look spot on to relay the alien slant on each of the characters, but shouldn't you be working on your ogre? 😁
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger
O shit - I need to get working on mine too....
DeleteThank you Roger, wanted a real feel to them, but also alien ! LOL Don't worry already have four shades on the skintone done, at least another two to go though ! LOL
DeleteNeed to get a move on Dai ! LOL
DeleteHoho, I'm enjoying every bit of this so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, hopefully the dropship will be as impressive.
DeleteThose all painted up really well. Nice job! 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Stewart, they were fun to do, so went pretty quickly (except the black ! LOL)
DeleteNusco looks even more intimidating with paint applied! I like the Mantis medic a lot too though. The squad photo with everyone is really impressive. Great work all around on these, Dave!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, I think the colours I've gone with on each suits the character, and adds interest on the group shot, although my eye is always drawn to Ceri with her bright colours ! LOL
DeleteIt's alway good to see your sculpts brought to life with your very imaginative paint-jobs.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, always try to bring nature into my colour schemes when painting aliens, as I think it makes them relatable,
DeleteVery cool Dave - I like the anthromorphic take on the first two aliens (though I'd probably skip that medical appointment!) and the sniper looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazael, it can be tricky, but i think they worked well, and no one want's to see the Doc ! LOL I went with the second best firing position, as it would be easier to move around on a board ! LOL
