As I continue on with this years challenge I've made some headway with a few more bits, first is another scatter piece, the skull on a cushion, this was a simple build and paint, and used greenstuff that was starting to go off to build up the main bulk of the piece.
Next we see the green of Crazy Chrissy, at this point I still need to green the bomb she is sat on, and make her hands, but one may have to wait as I'm going to try and cast the cocktail glass to get a translucent look to it.
Last today I have got D.R. fully painted, it may need some tweaks once it's placed with the other models, but I'm happy with the result so far.

ReplyDeleteThank you Phil, of course you can ask, I'm undecided at this moment, as I wasn't a massive fan of the character, but it is an important part of the artwork, once I've finished the main three characters, and the bowl of Rippy fish, I'll make a final decision.

ReplyDeleteThank you Jez, I have a distinct advantage, it's what I do for a living, which is why I always scratchbuild for this challenge rather than convert, and never want to shame anyone, rather try to inspire others to have a go.

DeleteWow, nice work all around! I've never sculpted a skull, but you did an excellent job. I also like how Chrissy is coming along and D.R. looks great painted up! Those clown shoes are pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian, once you understand the form and function of all the elements of the skull, they can be fun to sculpt, especially alien or monster ones. Never make fun of D.R.'s clown shoes ! LOL he got very upset about them in one story. They're all starting to come together, I'm currently having a break from them and working on a backdrop for the scene.

DeleteGreat painting so far and as always, brilliant sculpting on everything. Sorry I'm a bit behind in the posts. I have never heard of these characters, which is, as we say, the point of FH...but I'm surprised as I'm fairly familiar with 2000 AD and Alan Moore. How did I miss these?

I think you just described D.R. perfectly, as I recall Teddy Boys were just making a resurgence in the UK at the time this character came out, plus Punk was still a thing as well, and the shoulder pads were definitely 80's ! LOL
