THAT'S THE LAST WALL

Rather than a straw, I've got the last wall construction finished, these are the internal walls for Chalmun's quarters, I've also got them painted and partioning curtains made and painted.

The curtains were made from cloth and coated in PVA glue to set the curves and shape before painting, as there is a second floor for sleeping quarters I put in spiral stairs to show that there is another level even though I'm not building it. Just a short post today as I'm busy on commission work, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

    1. Thank you Suber, would have loved to have got his private bar built, and the wall hangings, but there is always next year ! LOL

    1. Thank you Michael, it looks more complicated than it is, I started with 6 quarters of a circle, and each section I took out to make a step, was added to the underside to help shape that section. You just need to make sure there is enough area to glue the next pair to (and don't try and do too many at once ! LOL)

  5. And it's curtains for you walls.
(I'm not sure that idiom worked, supposed to be like "it's curtains for you pal!")

  6. The attention to detail for this project is mind-blowing, Dave. Are you planning on painting some Napoleonics with correct cuffs, collars and piping as a relaxing change once its finished. LOL!!!

    1. Thank you Simon, you've hit the nail on the head with why I don't do historicals, as my OCD would kick in and I'd get nothing done ! LOL At least with a fantasy area there is wiggle room.

Nice details Dave! :-) Both the stairs and the curtains look spot on! I thought to myself I would not like to have tried making the stairs, read your description of how you did them in the comment above and then thought how effective and simple that idea is (I'm a bit dim)! Nicely done!

    1. Thank you John, it's always the details that make any piece, got shown the trick with cloth many years ago, and keep it in reserve for occasions just like this. Once you break down structures there's normally a easier way to do them, and always remember K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid, which I constantly have to remind myself ! LOL
