I can't remember if I got these to put on bases or do as a swarm, but have opted for the swarm now, I've gone for colours of poison tree frogs, as a poison attack with them would be useful in gaming.
Below are the colour schemes I based these on.
While I did these I also painted up this toad which came in the Ripperdactyl box, I thought it could be used as a familiar for a skink priest.
I based it off of a Cane Toad as seen below.
Talking of Skink priests, I made one up from the crew of a Stegadon, I've gone for an albino colour scheme to mark him as special.
Lots more lizardmen to come, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
I love all your colour choices, they all look splendid!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, nature came up with the colours, I just tried to emulate them ! LOL
DeleteVery cool Dave :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Frank, trying to combine my love of frogs and lizards, and snakes into this army, hopefully I can carry it off ! LOL
DeleteStaying as busy as ever, love the frogs - where did they come from ? (don's say swam/river etc.)
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, you know me can't stay still for long ! LOL Poison Tree Frogs come from Central and South America, and can be found in most jungle areas down there.
DeleteAn amphibian and reptilian visual delight! Really well done - adaptive to the natural colors of the animals,
ReplyDeleteThank you Mark, at least these ones in the house, the wife doesn't mind ! LOL my interest in these animals is proving very useful for this army ! LOL
DeleteI don't know if this expression travels across the pond but thank you for your work on these new minis, Dave! Poison tree frogs are visually stunning to be sure and using them for the frog minis was a great idea. Truthfully, everything came out well in this update and I envy your productivity! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, poison tree frogs are natures Skittles, but you wouldn't want to taste that rainbow ! LOL They fit really well in a Fantasy setting with their extreme bright colours, so seemed a natural choice to me. As for the productivity, just trying to do as much as I can while I can ! LOL
DeleteThe continued work on your Lizardmen is great. I can't imagine seeing that toad in real life. That would definitely freak me out!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian, really enjoying working on these at the moment. He is rather large that toad, and probably has an appetite to match ! LOL
DeleteOooh, nice work, Dave! :-) I'm going to have nightmares about that Cane Toad!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, thankfully we don't get them in the UK ! LOL although it would probably leap away from a large human as it would see you as more of a threat ! LOL
DeleteGreat idea to paint the frogs as poison frogs, they turned out great. Also, that's one massive toad - wouldn't want to mess with it, haha
ReplyDeleteThank you snapfit, as swarms come with a poison attack they made the most sense to me ! LOL From what I've read they can give a pretty nasty bite, so best avoided !
DeleteGreat stuff to a model! I really like the selection of well-executed skin patterns on those froggies!
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazael, I did question my choices and sanity while doing them, so glad they turned out well ! LOL
