Continuing on with new models I got is this squad of Stormtroopers, I got these for my Birthday and didn't want to delay painting them too long, as it can be easy to pass them by and paint something more interesting. I've gone for my standard dirty Tatooine look. The kit comes with a leader missile launcher, and heavy weapon seen below.
You also get an additional 4 standard troopers seen below.
another unit finished for the challenge, still have a few more Birthday and Christmas presents to go through, plus finishing off some old projects, so plenty to keep me out of trouble. That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
Some really nice sculpts in the batch. Love the rocket launcher bloke best, wonder if he realizes rogue force users can just catch those things in mid-flight?
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, there is some nice variation in the unit, although I guess it will be a bit repetitive with more boxes ! LOL Probably not, they're not renowned for being the brightest bulbs in the box ! LOL
DeleteVery nice indeed, Dave, and I really like your "standard dirty Tatooine look". Are these for Star Wars Legion or Assault..? Can't quite tell from the bases. Either way they're excellent additions.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, these are Legion models, but I will be using them alongside the ones I have from Imperial Assault as well, as I'll need a lot of Imperial models to populate a 6' x 4' board especially if I get round to building the Imperial compound of Mos Eisley.
DeleteThese are really nice, Dave! :-) You can never have too many stormtroopers (although mine are for my WW German army)! I must admit, I like your weathered Tatooine look as well!
DeleteThank you John, indeed can never have too many ! LOL It took a while to get a method I was happy with, but can get through quite quickly now.
DeleteI love them! They look battered, they've certainly had their share of action :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, Tatooine would have to be one of the worst places to get posted as a Stormtrooper, as you'd spend all night cleaning your armour, just for it to get dirty again as soon as you walked out the barracks ! LOL
Delete“Only imperial storm troopers are so precise.”
ReplyDeleteNice looking troops.
My bday is also near Xmas. 😀
Thank you Stewart, ah yes the conflict in can they shoot or can't they ! LOL
DeleteHope you had a great Birthday, mine was actually back in October, was just really slow at getting to them ! LOL
Smashing work in the trooper mate, the dirty white look really suits them.
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger
Thank you Roger, it's not everyone's taste, but I like it, and fits Tatooine well in my opinion.
DeleteThose look pretty good, Dave! How many stormtrooper minis do you have painted up all together?
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian, so far 44 Stormtroopers, that's not including scout troopers or rocket troopers, so might need a few more yet ! LOL
DeleteThat's awesome!
DeleteIt's what you see in any of the movies or series, lots of Stormtroopers everywhere ! LOL
DeleteYou've found a good recipe and it looks excellent.
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil, it took a while to get it right, but very happy with the results now.
DeleteThe 'bad' guys do need some weapons that have a burst diameter as none of them can shoot normal weapons. All worthy additions to the empire.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, indeed should help their terrible aim ! LOL
DeleteThe weathering is spot-on with these Troopers, Dave! They might not hit anything but at least they look capable and grizzled while missing every shot! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, you're right looking the part is half the battle, aim we'll just have to try harder ! LOL
DeleteGreat work on these dirty stormtroopers. You're certainly building up your Legion!
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazael, slowly getting there, but don't think I'd want to paint too many at the same time ! LOL
