Between Christmas and Birthday, I got some more Scout Troopers for my Star Wars project, I got another pair of bikers, which now brings my total up to four, I'd like to get another pair to finish the unit, but I'd like to get the pair from the core box to get some variation.
I went with the normal dirty scheme on the painting, and the grey bikes from "The Mandolorian", I have also painted up a box set of the Scout Troopers on foot, you get seven in the box, a squad leader, a sniper which was my favourite of the set, and a trooper with demolition charges, as seen below.
You also get 4 standard troopers in various poses, as seen below.
With the two I have from WOTC and the 4 with E-Web cannons from Imperial Assault I have a fair size force, but I might get some more later on, to make a decent sized unit of them.
That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
The Scout Trooper are my fave type of Imperial Stormtrooper by far. I still remember as a boy cycling to the store to pick up its action feature when Kenner finally released its Return of the Jedi range of miniatures. You've definitely done them justice, Dave. Some really nice work, matey.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, I was rather partial to the Scout Armour type as well, more so than the Snowtrooper, which was okay. Knew I wanted a unit of these, and it was confirmed when they appeared in the Mandolorian, which gave me great reference for the dirty look I wanted to have.
DeleteAll really nice, Dave, and you have to get more bikes for sure! :-) I think my favourite's the sniper as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, I think a unit of 6 bikers should look good on a board, it is an awesome sculpt, but how good would his shooting ability be ! LOL
DeleteLooks good. Speeder bikes are always cool. 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Stewart, you're not wrong there ! LOl
DeleteSuperb job. Love Imperial Scouts my favourite Imperial uniforms. Though Shores are a close second.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, totally agree on the Scout Armour, and I also like the Shore Armour, been thinking about having a unit of them, as the colours would fit well on Tatooine, after all it is a giant beach ! LOL
DeleteGreat Troopers Dave.
ReplyDeleteThe troopers are some of my favourites too. Playing Legion, something I haven't done in a while, they look great and zip around just like you'd expect them too. Damn, now you've made me want to play again!
Thank you Justin, it's amazing how much the stripped down armour is liked, I think it is the style of the helmet that draws people in. Sorry about causing you less time, wanting to dig out your Legion stuff ! LOL
DeleteGreat work Dave! Always loved the Biker Scouts since the morning I first saw them before school on some "good morning Australia" type tv show back in '84. Love the weathering you've done on them as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazael, it was such a new and iconic set of armour, and was so pleased to see it back in the live action seriesthey've been doing, especially as it gave me a reference for the dirt ! LOL
DeleteLovely painting, Dave, the bikes and the Scouts look superb. I like that you went for the Mandalorian look of grey, as the brown ones don't really suit the Tatooine setting. And thanks for reminding me that I have a huge model scout bike to make LOL!
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt, out of the two versions of the bike the Mandolorian was the clear way to go for a Tatooine desert, plus gave me great reference material for the dirty armour element. I think you told me about the large scale model, when I painted the first pair of bikers ! LOL
DeleteYep, the model's been sitting on my shelf ever since LOL! I really need to get it made and painted.
DeleteI believe there is a painting challenge going on at the moment, so you could always try and get it painted now ! LOL
DeleteI do love me some Biker Scouts. Makes me miss my old trooping days with the 501st SW costuming group as a TB trooper.
ReplyDeleteThe weathering is perfect mate. Great job!
Thank you Dai, wish I'd done more like that when I was able to. I found a glaze rather than a wash was the best consistency for the weathering.
DeleteSo good to see these Scout fellas, I do love them. Fantastic paintjob on them, what an Imperial force you have assembled!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, it's slowly getting there, and that reminds me Jeff asked for a group shot, will have to try and remember that when I finish what's on the desk.
DeleteLooking good! Wait a second .... a Stormtrooper Sniper?! Now, I've seen everything! Haha!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian, I know right ! LOL There was the character in the Mandolorian who was a Imperial sharpshooter, but as he points out he wasn't a Stormtrooper ! LOL
DeleteSeeing your posts this past month has put me in Star Wars nirvana, Dave! I haven't been this excited about Star Wars since Phantom Menace was about to come out :D I love the latest troopers you finished and the Tatooine scenery really elevates the already great paint jobs. Your miniature collection is extensive and excellent, even among Star Wars fans I would imagine!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, great that I have been able to give you a state of Star Wars nirvana, as I've been in one with all the painting too ! LOL Really need to get on with a lot more scenery, as the intention is to fill a 6 foot by 4 foot board full of buildings. There are some others out there that seem to have filled a lot more of the gaps, with their 3D prints, and my budget only stretches so far ! LOL
DeleteBikes look excellent, as do the other troopers - you must have quite a force of Troopers now !
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, still haven't broke the triple figure mark, but working on it ! LOL
