BRING YOUR DAUGHTERS TO THE SLAUGHTER

Today I have the last models of the Wych Cult I needed to finish The Daughters of the Veil, these are Hekatrix Bloodbrides that are sworn to protect their Succubus(leader)  there is only 4 of them as they will be riding on a Venom, which carries 5. The first two models came with the Venom model and are normally crew models you can show hanging off the sides of the vehicle, after a bit of a conversion to make them look more like my other Bloodbrides, these models suited.

Next I converted a Kabalite warrior that was part of the crew for a raider, into a Hydra gauntlets wielding Wych.

This last model was a scratch build to make the Syren (squad leader) for the unit, I really wanted a pose that defies gravity, she is supported by the whip alone.

I still have the Beastmasters and beasts to do but they are a sub cult, not pure Wyches, so another section now finished, that's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  1. Excellent work, Dave! The Syren really does appear to defy gravity with how you've sculpted her, and the painting on all these evil sods is top notch as usual.

    2. Thank you Dai, the crew models were already dynamic to hold on to the vehicles, but once stuck to the bases they were even more so.

  3. More Dark Eldar goodness, Dave, and you've definitely achieved your aim with the Syren imho. Splendid work with the green-stuff.

    1. Thank you Simon, nearing the end with the Dark Eldar, so only a few more to show. One of my regular opponents thought I was crazy trying to do that, and I probably am ! LOL

  4. These ladies look perfect for Dark Eldar! Following up on our conversation last week, each one of these photos is focused on the miniatures well too. They are the focal point of the photo which makes it easy to appreciate how nice of a job you did with them. Maybe that was accidental on your part but whatever you did definitely worked! :)

    1. Thank you Jeff, after the conversation I tried aiming the focus box at the core of the model instead of the head, which seemed to work, so thankyou for your input, and hopefully this will continue with my future photo's ! LOL

  5. Oh, I love the idea of the veils, it adds a lot of personality to the models, pretty cool. But the last conversion is ace! What an impressive display of skills!

    1. Thank you Suber, the veils was an idea to hide their beauty as the Succubus is so vain and doesn't want anyone to steal her thunder, the Syren is her twin sister who she disfigured when they were younger to make herself more beautiful, and the Syren then wore a veil to hide the mark, once leading the squad, she got the others to wear them as well.

  6. That looks like a lot of work to me and the whip trick is superb. Superbly painted denizens of evil,

    1. Thank you Joe, once the frame was all stuck together, it was just finding the balance point, and then fill in the gaps ! LOL You certainly wouldn't want to be facing these ladies (use this term loosely) on the battlefield ! LOL

  7. A fine bit of work Dave, especially on the last one as it captures the all action pose perfectly 👍😊

  10. Nice conversions on these! That's crazy that the one daughter is only suspended by the whip. Sadly, GW will probably read this and their next line of minis will be jumping off the bases suspended only by a thin line of resin filament, haha!

    1. Thank you Brian, luckily as it was a scratch build it's got a wire running through the whip and all the way up through the arm to support the weight. I hope they don't as their Scourges and harlequins are already fragile enough supporting the whole model on thin ankles ! LOL
