DID SOMEONE SAY BARBECUE !

Spent the last few days trapped in my room while we had heating fitted to the house, nice that we won't have to go through another winter with no heating. Using my time I have finished the dragon to fit on the keep.
scale shot with 28 mm scale model

Have used purple as the base colour for the shaded areas and varied the tone between the body scales and ridge scales, but both in the red spectrum.
The wings were painted with glazes to get a nice transition between the colours and also add veins and markings.
Happy to get this one finished for Jewel of July, got a couple more bits I'd like to finish for this event as well as working on some scenery for my event.
That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave

    1. Thank you Matt, I might sculpt a new dragon later this year, felt a bit burnt out with them, but now feel reinvigorated.
Perhaps they’re there on a bet ! lol

  4. That is realy nice Dave, the yellowish colour on the wings make them seem translucent a very nice effect, masterly is the word that comes to mind.

    1. Thank you John, as I was aiming for a translucent effect, I must have achieved it if that's what you thought of

  5. Really like the colour choices here. The yellow membranes with the spots and veins are a really nice touch and contrast well with the more neutral colours of the ruins and base.

    1. Thank you Dai, can be one of the hardest parts on any model, getting the colour balance right, really glad I took a colour theory course, it certainly helps on occasions ! LOL

  8. Wow !
I thought the Dragon looked great before, but whatever you've done has improved it 100%, those wings !
Great looking diorama and methinks you may need a slightly bigger photo-box!
