THEY HAVE A CAVE TROLL !

And now so do I, well a painted one at least ! LOL The box has a wide array of models in it, so I'm picking out interesting models to work on, while I slowly chip away at the bulk of Uruk's and Goblins, and I really like the cave troll model, so this was the next to get finished.

I've also got five Ringwraiths on foot finished, while I finish the two on horseback, and the one on Fell Beast.

Expect a lot more LOTR models as I work my way through, but I may get some other stuff finished every now and then to break up all the same colour painting ! LOL So until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  2. So good Dave and this brings back some fond memories as these were some of the first models I painted when I was dipping my toe in the hobby. Can't wait to see more.

    1. Thank you Michael, glad I could give you a fond trip down memory lane, never really painted a lot of LOTR models before, but everything I learnt doing the Star Wars models on matching colours has proved very useful ! LOL

    1. Thank you Suber, I was very pleased with the skin tones, but might have upped the contrast on the under belly too much ! LOL

    1. Thank you SD, all the LOTR models I'm showing are for sale, they are just easier to sell painted, if they aren't ludicrously priced ! LOL

  5. Oh no. I don't need any motivation to paint any more LotR figures thanks Dave, LOL!!! Nor buy any for that matter!!! Lovely work, especially on the Cave Troll.

  6. These all look great, Dave! They're classic metal sculpts that I painted in my first go around in the hobby. The Cave Troll is a more challenging mini than you would think. His lighter skin tone isn't easy to match to the film but you've done a great job of that.

    1. Thank you Jeff, always interesting to hear where people started in the hobby, for me it was the Orc's Lair by grenadier many years ago ! LOL You're not wrong on the belly colour, I think I went too dark on the shade, but needed to show the shapes for the photographs ! LOL

    1. Thank you snapfit, I always thought it was the best Troll sculpt they did, as some of the later ones looked awkward.
