Fancied a change again, so completed another Librarian for my Night Hawks chapter, originally I had planned to convert this model into Silas Hand the Inquisitor, but as you may remember I got the official model they released, so this model has sat in limbo for some time. It was originally a Librarian model, so it was a simple enough conversion to bring it back to that role, I decided to give it a force staff, and as it had a psychic hood I went for Codicer level psyker, plus gave it a jump pack to make him quick across the battlefield.
I remembered to take some pictures of the conversion as well, shown below. At some point I really need some Lexicanium level psyker, but as the models have long been out of production, I'm probably going to have to convert some, but that's a project for another time, hopefully the next post will be the Ogre for Roger's challenges as I'm about 70% through on the sculpt, as long as there are no recounts ! LOL So until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
Nice new addition to the chapter, may he spread the emperor's word in in which ever violent fashion the Inquisition prescribes. LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, indeed they are not the most peaceful of people ! LOL Only several more hundred to finish the chapter ! LOL
DeleteGreat model conversion, as ever, and a wonderful paint-job to boot. I must admit that when Psionics was introduced into games intially, (D&D iirc) I hated them and always played without, any psionics.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, a very simple conversion to bring him back into the fold, in a very early list I had a psyker, then as the rules changed I dropped him, as he became more expensive in points, but less effective, now I'm using my own rules, I want to find a balance, as only two of my armies have psykers. Can fully appreciate, that they are not for everyone, in any system.
DeleteI must confess to being super-tempted by all these WH40K 10th edition reveals currently, Dave. So this posting definitely didn't help keep me strong as the Librarian in the teaser video looks awesome, imho. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, and sorry about encouraging you to not stay strong ! LOL Must actually look at the Heresy range closer as there should be a lot of models I would find useful, but will be steering clear of any Primaris marines ! LOL
DeleteVery nice conversion mate, I'm actually doing a bit of kit bashing myself at the moment, and will hopefully have it finished for my next post.
ReplyDelete70% through! sorry mate there has been a recount and it's now a Sci/fi Dragonkin wizard with no armour and a twenty foot laser pike riding a snake headed chicken! (Just kidding), I will say however that there's no rush here you have till late July/ August and that should still leave plenty of postage time! (blooming over achievers! 🤣🤣🤣).
Cheers Roger.
Thank you Roger, I really need to do a lot more for my Night Hawks, but need to get hold of some more kits to work from ! LOL Look forward to seeing what you've been working on.
DeleteSince posting I'm actually down to doing the two hands and weapon, so should give me plenty of time for moulding and then doing the casts, and hopefully showing it on here we may get a few more challenge participants. Didn't I mention no recounts after it's in black and white ! LOL
Damn! and the writing on my blog is black on white!!!! (Curse you Stone!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣)
ReplyDeleteNo political shenanigans here ! LOL
DeleteOh, I love the greenstuffing here, pretty nice work all over! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, pretty simple stuff, and the hawks symbols I'm pretty well practiced on now ! LOL
DeleteNice conversion, Dave! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you John, easy stuff on this one.
DeleteThe conversion looks great, unsurprisingly! I am a bit disappointed that after all the evil Warhammer 40k miniatures you've shown us lately that you also support the Boy Scouts of the Emperor though ;)
ReplyDeleteI painted a few metal space marines back in the day so it makes me a bit nostalgic to see one. Its crazy how much the proportions and size has changed over the years. You can really see it when you go back and look at a metal marine!
Thank you Jeff, you should know there are no good guys in 40K ! LOL Your not wrong on the scale changes, as I have models from the very early range all the way up to Primaris (which I don't have) and there is no consistency at all, and some of the character models are actually smaller than some of the basic marines ! LOL
DeleteNice restoration of the Librarian - and a great looking final product! Are Librarians allowed to use Jump Packs these days? Will they be able to in the new rules? :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazael, it was good to bring him back to the fold ! LOL As for whether the GW rules allow jump packs, I couldn't say as I've not looked at their rules for at least 3 editions, and have no plans to look at the new set, as I will only be gaming at home, and using my own rules.
DeleteFun seeing those work in progress pics! I always love to see those! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian, you can thank Roger for those ! LOL Never realised people wanted to see the greens and conversions.
