THIS ONE IS NO LADY

This new model for my Star Wars project was a complete scratch build, as I couldn't find a model of Ventris in bounty hunter form.

So who is Ventris ? During the Clone Wars, she started as part of the Night Sisters (females of the same race as Darth Maul) who became an apprentice to Count Dooku, until betrayed by her master, and returned to the Night Sisters to find a way to destroy Dooku, the plan failed and the sisters were destroyed, she ended up becoming a bounty hunter towards the end of the war and even helped Ahsoka Tano. So I thought she would be a cool addition to the time period I'm intending to play.

This model should count towards my Jewel of July contributions, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

    1. Thank you Iain, if you've not watched the clone wars cartoon, it's not surprising as she only appears there, which is set between episode 2 and 3 of the films, and a little bit after episode 3

    1. Thank you Michael, as you can see by the artwork it was my inspiration, and being a one off easier to achieve than if it was a production piece

My fav Ventris was from the Tartakovsky cartoons. She was so badarse in those.

    1. Thank you Azazel, it was right at the end of the series, which I only saw this year, Do like a dynamic model when the character calls for it

  6. I looked at the pics before reading the text and I'd never have guessed that you'd scratch-built this figure. Great work, and the paintjob seals the deal!

  8. Yep sorry but she's a new character to me too, as I never really got in to the cartoon's, but that is a cracking job you've done on her, I particularly love the texture you've got into her "robe/jacket".

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger. didn't know how many would know of her, which is why I put in the background. The texture was quite easy to do, while the green was still wet I pressed on the reverse side of a piece of leatherette which gave that nice looking texture, could probably get similar results with coarse grain material as well

  9. Great stuff Dave! I absolutely love the Clone Wars cartoon so I immediately recognized her, and your attention to detail - even the curved hilts on the lightsabers.
How about some 'Rebels' characters next, I'd love to see Zeb or Chopper make it to your table 😀

    1. Thank you Ivor, wouldn't be the same without the curved hilts, which actually help lock the sabre into the desired grip.
I have already painted up the entire rebels entourage that was produced by Fantasy Flight Games, and you can find each of the posts at these locations
