Continuing on with my plan to finish armies this year, I've got four Kroot that I needed to finish the last squad.
These models come from the Kroot Kill Team box, I was lucky enough to get for Christmas, For these four I wanted to give them Kroot Rifles to fit into the squad, below is front and back shots of each model.
Now the box has another six Kroot, and two Kroot Hounds in it, I'm going to make these into a retinue for the Dark Shaper, and think I'll give them some of the more unusual weaponry that can be found in the box.
That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
The Kroots look nice and vibrant. Congrats on finishing up the squad!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian, yes great to have this squad finished so the main Kroot army is now done, just the Dark Shaper retinue to go, as that will give me some extra pieces if I want to use them.
DeleteYour scheme is bold and unique, I love how they look!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, wanted a tropical bird colour scheme to really bring through the evolved bird theme through.
DeleteGreat looking Kroot, any Tau to tuck them into or are they staying as an independent warband?
ReplyDeleteThank you SD, no Tau, this is part of a full Kroot army list, it started as a 1500 point list but it's a bit bigger now with the Great Gnarloc's and Dark Shaper and his monstrosities ! LOL
DeleteSO this is not the army finished then, but one more step done?
ReplyDeleteNice looking aliens. 😁
Thank you Stewart, indeed is any army ever truly finished or just awaiting a new addition we want ! LOL The original army list is now complete, but not wanting to waste the additional models I've now got a few more to paint ! LOL
DeleteGreat looking Kroot!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, as each model is an individual sculpt I didn't need to do any conversions, which made it a lot quicker ! LOL
DeleteFantastic job, love the colour scheme you chose for the Kroot.
ReplyDeleteThank you snapfit, always found the GW standard green a bit pedestrian, and wanted something a bit more eye catching (plus green is my least favourite colour to paint ! LOL) plus a more tropical feel to this avian race
DeleteI like the brightly colored Kroot! So often, they're in drab military colors which fits 40k well but isn't the most appealing at the same time. Glad to hear you got some new minis to add to your army as well. If I remember right, that Kill Team box comes with some great sculpts!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, being that they are alien I wanted to work on that premise, but also realistic, so looked at tropical birds for inspiration. All the sculpts in the box have a lot of character to each, and they have made every one an individual, which certainly saved on conversion work on my part ! LOL
DeleteVery nice, Dave! :-) I really like them!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, me too, I'm a little sad to be nearing the end of this army as I enjoy painting them ! LOL
DeleteReally nice looking Kroot here Dave - all except for the Ryback quote! :o
ReplyDeleteThe question is whether you're looking forward to the new Kroot or if them being released just as you finish these is more off-putting? :D
Thank you Azazael, if anyone was going to get that reference it was you mate ! LOL
DeleteThe new units are definitely of interest, like the rampagers, which will give another cavalry option, the new Krootox could be added to my existing unit, won't be bothering with the new hounds as I prefer the older ones, on the fence on the basic Kroot, as I don't see it adding a whole lot to the old ones, unless I want to make the squads bigger, although I may get another Kill Team for the extra weaponery ! LOL
