As you can imagine, I haven't got a lot done in the last few weeks, what with doing as much as I can on the bathroom, and then recovering as much as I can inbetween, but I did at least finish the sculpt on my next adventurer A cyborg human male, I'm going to call him junk, as he probably lost a lot of his memory with how much of him has been replaced.
I decided to make his weapon part of his arm, rather than carrying a weapon, and it could be that he has different attachments, depending on what role he is needed for at any time. I've also started Dai's excellent suggestions for the crew, so hopefully will have something to show on them soon, still need to finish my Rebel Transporter before the end of the month as well, if I can ! LOL In other news I now only have two Ogre orders left to dispatch, one being John's, who has been very patient, being one of the first to place an order, but I needed to get the overseas one's sent first to make sure they got there in time, yours should be on it's way this week John. That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
Another wonderful sculpt and I'm looking forward to seeing it painted up, I d like the half-man, half-machine look of the figure,
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, I was unsure if I'd gone too far with the cybernetics, but your comment has reassured me on my decision, hopefully it wont be too long before I get it into paint.
DeleteJunk is a cool sculpt and has a KLAW (old Marvel villain) feel to him that I appreciate.
ReplyDeleteDearly hoping I can join in on the Ogre painting thing, but stuff my end just changed and now I don't see me having my opportunity to hobby for a while :(
Thank you Dai, not a character I have heard of, so will need to go and have a look at him, and glad it appealed to you.
DeleteSorry to hear things aren't going well, hope it get's sorted soon for you, and at least you have the model, if things do change back for you.
Turns out it is a character I know, but the MCU version, which is obviously quite different from the comic version ! LOL
DeleteO yeah, I didn't even realise the MCU character was supposed to be him! Far more used to the orange/purple fellow from the comics.
DeleteEh, I'll get some hobby in somehow. Will just take a bit until I have the opportunity I think. Hoping sometime before the end of the year.
I did like Andy Serkis's performance, but it is a lot different to the comic character, from what I've just seen, so can easily understand how the two wouldn't be associated.
DeleteWe all need that break from reality, and a bit of enjoyment, hope things sort themselves out quickly for you mate.
Agreed with Dai - as Klaw (comic version) was the first thing I thought of. With a slight touch of that one member of the Bad Batch (which I still need to watch...)
DeleteI had no idea until recently that Gollum was supposed to be the same character - insane!
Thank you Azazel, yes Echo is a good call on resemblance, it's weird the characters that are based on others ! LOL
DeleteSo I'm not the only one who produces junk then! ;-) Nice sculpting Dave and I like the way you can plug in a weapon of choice (not the Cult album) to his arm! I don't mind having waited for my ogres, since I've still got scenery on the go and I knew you wouldn't forget about me!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, indeed, there are so many levels of junk ! LOL Thought it would be a useful way of adapting his cybernetics to the job at hand. I wouldn't forget any of the blogging community, just hoping I'll have time to cast my own before the start of the month, if not, at least it wont take long to arrive once it's cast ! LOL
DeleteI was thinking it had more of a Deathlok vibe (Marvel Comic book version, rather than Agents of SHIELD vesrion - although both are cool). As is Junk himself.
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten about the "Paint What Everyone's Got" challenge. Could you remind me how I go about ordering my Ogre for this?
Thank you Jez, I geuss when you've seen one cyborg you've seen them all ! LOL
DeleteDrop me an email, with what type of postage you want (standard, tracked, signed for) if you want a round, square or no base at all, and your preferred email account to send the PayPal invoice to.
Clearly someone you don't want to mess with! Cool job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, I'd be worried of him setting off his weapon at the wrong time ! LOL
DeleteGreat jobDave. Hope the plumbing nightmare will end soon. 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Stewart, plumbing is now all sorted, just doing all the finishing work, to make the bathroom look good ( seems to take even longer ! LOL) Doing models is what has helped keep what's left of my sanity ! LOL
DeleteThat's by far my fave of the group (so far) Dave. Cracking figure. Are you planning on doing more with different arm options..?
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, now I've said about alternative arms I suppose I had better build some, I'll probably modify this model, to take the different options.
DeleteI'm glad to hear the bathroom work is nearly done. It sounds like a real pain! Junk came out very nicely. He captures the appeal of Sci-Fi perfectly. I've kind of had the urge to paint a cyberpunk type of mini lately and so seeing you work on this is timely!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, the finishing touches are taking a while, but don't they always ! LOL He fit's the retro sci-fi vibe, as cyborgs have been shown for a long time now, hope you find a model that inspires you creatively, and can't wait to see what you do with it.
DeleteNice sculpt Dave!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mark, been an idea for a while, so nice to finally get it finished ! LOL
