FORGOTTEN HEROES PART 5

We're now in the last 9 days of forgotten-heroes-2021 and I'm hoping to complete all of Enfys Nest Cloud Riders, and with the 5 I have to show today, it should be doable as I only have 2 left to do.

First today is Gelan Yees, I don't have much information on this one other than his species is Sabat. He is a bit shorter than the rest but not as short as Weazel.

The model was made mostly with greenstuff, but used some plastic rod, plasticard and  paper clips on the weapons.

Painting I utilised the glaze as a filter again.

Next we have Chussido, who is a Rodian.

When I sculpted this one I left the helmet off for several reasons, first I got to sculpt a Rodian head, second I got to paint one that wasn't green, and thirdly I thought his Burlap sack hood was awful !.

Painting was fun on this especially the face.

Next is Pruno Jant, apparently he is human.

Sculpting was the same as the others.

Painting I used a lot of washes to get the dirty look of the reference picture.

Next up is Faddera Rabar, the only thing I know about this one is the species Dyplotid.

Sculpting was the same process as above, with a bit of plasticard to help make the vanes of his helmet.

Painting was simple enough, and used a couple of washes to give the overall grimy look.

Last up today, is Regineer Teed, which I have no information on.

No helmet on this one as I couldn't find a suitable reference picture, and in the movie, you see him for all of two seconds, and he's out of focus.

painting wise was pretty straight forward, although I did use some blue glaze for his face markings.

Here is a group shot so far, my next post will be on the Season of Scenery challenge, so you're all ready for the start of July, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

I'm a bit behind on posts at the moment, Dave, but these are brilliant! :-) And I'm hoping to get something done for the scenery challenge as well, since I'm really lagging behind with scenery!

    1. My “Solo: Official Guide” arrived today and wow, it’s a must have! Even better I think than the prequel guides and easily on par (just for unique content) with the original trilogy guides.

If you give me your email I can send pics of the awesome droid pages which I think you’ll love!

  5. Mouth-watering work, Dave. What an awesome force you've built & painted. The envy of any Star Wars tabletop I'd have thought by a long way. Looking forward to the Season of Scenery challenge too - I've already hooked out my first piece ready for the start :-)

    1. Thank you Simon, so many of the characters have been overlooked by the companies, so if I really want them, then I need to make my own.
Great to have you on board for the challenge as well.

  7. Fantastic work again and as usual I'm in awe of your ability to sculpt these so well and so fast. They really do look good enough to sell (which I know you can't do). The painting is great too and really matches the source material. Nicely done!

    1. Thank you Matt, found having multiple sculpts on the go sped up the process, so while one was drying I could be working on another, so less time sat watching greenstuff dry ! LOL Was happy with how the colours have turned out, and enjoying experimenting with different techniques.

  8. It's crazy how talented you are, Dave. The small bit of green stuff work I did for Forgotten Heroes was on existing miniatures, and it took me all night! You're cranking these babies out from scratch in no time at all, and they look wonderful before and after painting. Stellar job, as always!

    1. Thank you Keith, it's all practice mate at the end of the day, if you pick up useful advice along the way that always helps, and being willing to experiment can yield useful tricks. When I first started with greenstuff I didn't like it, it behaved differently to Milliput that I was used to, but with lots of practice I found it had a lot of properties that were far better than Milliput, like the elasticity of green, means when you put a mark into the green, either side forms a curve, which can add to the effect, now when you want a straight edge as it's a mechanical piece, you wait until the green is starting to dry, and you can then get a right angled line.
