SEASON OF SCENERY 2024 ROUNDUP

Firstly a huge thank you to all who took part, and to all the people that supported them, I will not be listing the people who didn't actually manage to post up anything, as this challenge is not about naming or shaming, but celebrating what got done. Don't forget to check out their blogs from the links for more pictures and other great postings. Hopefully I haven't missed anyones entry, but if I have please let me know, and I will correct my mistake.

As Roger would complain if I didn't include my own, I managed two vehicles, and the main construction of the Mos Eisley cantina.

Thanks again to everyone, and hopefully some of you will take part in Apocalypse Me in October, more on that later in the month, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

A STRONG FORCE AT WORK

Yes there is, it's called magnetism ! LOL To secure the roof's I've added some magnets, which should keep it locked in place when the roof's are on. I've used a combination of magnetic strip glued to the walls, and small magnets, drilled and glued into the roof. Some may be asking why didn't you do this during construction, well I didn't have them at that point ! LOL

It would be a bit of a boring post, if this was it, so I have a few more details done. First is lasgunpacker's suggestion of a Trandoshan skin. I've put it as decor next to the spiral staircase.

Next I've put a cloak in the entrance hallway, as Chalmun is a wookie, he would need to disguise himself when leaving his quarters, as Imperials have been hunting them down since Order 66.

I've also done some Wookie weapons mounted on the walls in his personal bar area, partly as decoration, but would also be quick access if needed.

Last today, is a bottle and two glasses added to the the bar, to make it looked used.

Still need to do the seat, to sit in front of the bar, and the need to work out what's supposed to be in the next room, in the mean time I may start working on some of the external details needed, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

BABY STEPS

This weeks progress has been small, due to multiple factors, one being having to wait for the restock of greenstuff, as my last commission used all of the new roll, and most of my spare backup ! LOL Also we have been spending a lot of time getting my daughter her next bike, as she can now have a 125 cc, and that's taken a lot of time. So what have I managed on the Cantina, first up I've been sorting out some furnishings for Chalmun's quarters. I've built his private bar, but might add some glasses and a bottle on top yet, just to make it look used.

I've also done the rug for this area, but still need to do the seat to sit on top of it.

Last part for the quarters are the two wall hangings, I want to add some weapons hanging on top.

I've also done the next roof needed for the sales booth that is behind the cantina.

As I said not a lot finished this week, but every bit finished is one less step needed for completion ! LOL So until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

PUT ONE FOOT INFRONT OF THE OTHER

The dust has settled on another manic Season of Scenery, and some fantastic entries from all who took part, don't worry if you haven't had time to post yours up, as I'll be waiting at least another 10 days before doing my roundup, so you still have time to get those last bits posted.

For me I didn't want to just leave my big project unfinished to next year (we all know I have the patience of a gnat ! LOL) so where to start, the closest bit to being finished was the roof, as all it needed was a couple of gubbinz added and painting. I chose to only add a couple on this side so the side with the domes has a lot more.

As you can see from the overall shot I finished Chalmun's roof as well (wasn't going to call it his dome ! LOL) here is a detail shot showing the extra structure on it, had to find a dome in the movie with this piece on it to work out the details.

Here are some extra detail shots of different sections.

Now in my last post Jeff said he couldn't see Hem Dazon so just for Jeff, I moved him into the limelight.

Don't know which section I'll move onto next, but it all needs finishing, just one step at a time. Until next time stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave
