I've made some progress on all the Gnarloc's I want, first is another Great Gnarloc, this one will need a herder to accompany it, but that will have to wait until I get some more Kroot.
Next is the first Gnarloc, as I need a minimum of 5 I'll probably take a cast off this one, and then add the claws, rider, and stowage, so I can make them more individual.
Last today is the last Great Gnarloc I want ( unless I decide I want another with stowage), this one is going to be in full run pose, which is why the lower leg is currently missing as it needs to be reinforced before adding the weight of the body.
That's all for today, who knows next week I may have something painted, or just more greenstuff ! LOL So until next time, stay safe, and have fun !
Cheers Dave
You're doing a great job of cranking these out. I like the variety of poses across the three sculpts too. I'll be curious if you can keep sculpting them or need a break from Gnarlocs! I would probably need to mix it up but that's just me :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, as these are scratchbuilt I wanted to get in plenty of variation on the pose, so each is unique. These are actually my break piece from the commission work I'm currently doing which is all straight lines, so the organic Gnarloc's are a refreshing change ! LOL
DeleteWow, unusual and very impressive Dave, I do like your (cute) monster!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil, can't take credit for the design, as they are copies of a Forgeworld design, and the first time I've heard them called cute ! LOL
DeleteNeat work, Dave! :-) I like the variation you've got with them! Once you've moulded a couple will you add extras to them individually for a bit of variation?
ReplyDeleteThank you John, the plan is to take one cast off the Gnarloc, and then change the stowage and rider to make them look different, then sculpt up another Gnarloc and repeat the process, and finally sculpt up the Shaper's Gnarloc, so all 5 should look different, well that's the plan ! LOL
DeleteIncredible. I'm speechless. And you are right, if you manage to cast one of them, you can add different claws and stuff and get variations. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, If I do the second sculpt with an open mouth and different leg pose, I could possibly do a head swap to add more variation as well.
DeleteSplendid sculpting, what's the grey stuff the legs are made of?
ReplyDeleteCheers Iain caveadsum1471
Thank you Iain, the grey is foam core, which I reinforce with cocktail sticks to give them a bit more strength, then with the greeenstuff around them, they are pretty robust, the one on the single leg has been sat for 24 hours without falling off so far ! LOL
