Now we are not talking me personally, as I seem to be going a lot slower than normal at the moment, but more I now have the first two Air Ambulances are now finished, above you can see the new one following behind the original one I built, but I've updated the paintwork to include the chipping that Iain suggested a while ago, to give each one their own unique look. Below is shots of the new one from all four angles.
As the original model was designed for Scouts, I thought it only fitting that I made the first one for the Scout company, the pilots are the original biker models that GW released, wasn't a massive fan of the sculpts, so thought hiding them in a vehicle might help ! LOL The medic was constructed from multiple sources, the legs were metal scout legs, the torso and head are plastic scout kit, and the apothecary parts came from a Grey Knight kit. My plan is to make each one slightly different mainly on what the apothecary is doing.
That's all for today's post, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !
Cheers Dave
Nice work bud, these look excellent. I’m sure the medics will be a boon to any force
ReplyDeleteThank you Andy, only another four to go, and I'll have the whole fleet needed ! LOL I thought you might appreciate these, and hopefully they will help a few marines in game terms.
DeleteVery nice work, Dave! Its been a long time since I painted a Warhammer 40k speeder but I remember it taking longer and being more work than I expected. Adding some paint chipping was a great idea. You can really go crazy weathering something like this, if you're inclined but a few details go a long way too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, yes there are a lot of details that take up a lot of time, and I find it easier to paint the crew separately so you can get to all the panels switches and dials, and then I'm daft enough to add more complexity ! LOL Indeed you can totally nuts with chipping, and I try to vary it across them, so they don't get repetitive ! LOL
DeleteI find them fantastic, both as a concept and as models. I particularly love the Apothecary attending his patient on deck, it's almost a vignette by itself
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, I want each one to tell it's own story, and the apothecary is the easiest part to do that with, thinking of doing one with the stretchers dropped down to put the wounded on, then, I need to do 3 more little stories ! LOL
DeleteYou may think you're slowing down but you're going faster than me! Excellent little speeders.
ReplyDeleteThank you SD, I only ever judge my output on myself ! LOL fun little side project none the less.
DeleteExcellent looking land speeders, needless to say I like the chipping!

Thank you Iain, I hoped you'd like the chipping, as you inspired it.
