This is the last robot I need to complete all the renditions of the Warriors, leaving two humans and a slug to finish.
SteelHorn first appeared in the very first incarnation of the warriors, but spent most of the series as a molten mess of metal, until it fused with the very large robot George during the battle at BIOL. He later returned to the warriors in the " Third Element" where Medusa the planet spirit of Mars had returned him to his robot form, and has continued to be a member of the group since.
If I'd had spare silicone I'd have taken a mould of at least the chest and head so I could cast it in translucent blue, to add to the effect of the crystalline structure, but had to suffice with painting the effect. Pleased with the overall effect of the model, and happy to have finished the robot element, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
I think you've saved the best to last!
ReplyDeleteSuperb rendition of the charachter and all we need now is a group shot ! (Hint, hint)
Thank you Joe, glad you like him, as he has proved awkward on numerous occasions ! LOl
DeleteDon't worry will have group shots of all the versions of the 7 when I finish the two humans that make up a couple of the groups, but they are coming I promise, before the end of the month
Another fine job Dave & very true to the artwork.
ReplyDeleteThank you Frank,, I gained a lot of sculpting experience from making 3D representations of artwork for conversions for armies, so got used to converting 2D to 3D
DeleteWow Dave, he looks amazing! He also looks quite large, how tall is this one?
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael, he is the tallest of the warriors and is 50 mm tall. He even looks down on Hammerstein
DeleteCrikey, that's some sculpt then Dave, even more impressive.
DeleteClint has all the warriors at least a head taller than humans, Hammerstein being a head taller again and Steelhorn being taller again, with Mek Quake being the tallest, so tried to give a good representation of this
DeleteGreat rendition of the "most beautiful warrior" Dave.
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger.
Thank you Roger, I also like the first piece of artwork of him, although some of the later portrayals of his original form left a lot to be desired in my opinion
DeleteLovely looking robot, kind of has the feel of robbie the robot from forbidden planet?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, I see what you mean with the styling, and his shadow. A lot of old robots give shapes to new robots like C3PO has a lot of styling from Maria from Metropolis
DeleteLooking good Dave and nicely painted, the colour scheme stands oit well.
ReplyDeleteThank you John, his colour scheme has a lot of contrast in it which really makes him stand out
DeleteHe looks great. There's almost a hint of Chaos warrior to him :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt, your not wrong on his look, he also has elements from the Avengers movies to
DeleteCool model, he's got a bit of a superhero vibe to him.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wouter, I can see what you mean with his patriotic colour scheme.
