After a week of new distractions arriving I actually have my first Zombie finished, this is one of the Zombicide mini's from Bryan Scott's collection that Joe (Zabadak) distributed amongst the community. When I first saw the model it reminded me of a zombie from the remake of "Dawn of the Dead", as zombies go she wasn't in it long, but was the first clue for the survivors that if you got bit by a zombie, you would become one yourself. The model required a small bit of conversion mostly the hair and removing the handbag.
Below is the reference picture from the movie, and below that what the model looks like before conversion.
I've kept the blood to a minimum, other than the bite and around the nose and mouth like the reference picture, was a fun one to do, that's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Nice job and I can definitely see the resemblance. Though I kinda wish I hadn't! Great movie though and one I might try to sneak in again this month! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian, it's one of those characters you just can't help but watch ! LOL As remakes go it is one of the better ones out there, and regularly watch it if I need a Zombie fix.
DeleteGreat tribute to Vampifan, Dave. I thought that remake was excellent and that particular scene was terrifying - that was one big zombie coming at them!! LOL!!! I actually wish they'd made a follow-up, as the teaser ending showing the island not being as deserted as first thought conjured up all sorts of possibilities in my mind. It's also the only film I've ever found myself hoping actor Jake Weber survived - he tends to play such douches ordinarily.

Agree it was a great movie, zombies suddenly were very scary as they were now quick and agile, no just walking faster than them ! LOL Would have been good if they'd done a sequel based on the end credit footage. Most of the characters I wanted to survive did, though a few of them didn't make it, the one character I really didn't like had a fitting demise, so all in all was happy.

DeleteThe other day M found another 10 runners (others all finished), 10 Berseker walkers (I'd started/base coated on the rest), and 1 berseker runner (others all finished). Instead of "cool! free models!" my thought was more like "erggggggggg".
DeleteThat's the tales of nightmares mate, especially when you thought you'd finished those sets, are you still going to do a " Run Fat Boy Run " runner zombie ? hoping to get my second one done in those colours.
DeleteYou wanted to do one of the runners in Superman colours like the one I did, and we were both talking about doing one in Simon Pegg's colour scheme from Run Fat Boy, will be showing mine on Monday, with my next batch of zombies, not as large as the group you've just done though mate !

DeleteWell that zombie would definitely get me moving in the zombie apocalypse. She looks like a sturdy and dangerous zombie to me! Its great to see you painting minis from Vampifan and I'm sure painting this mini sparked some introspection as you worked too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, to be honest all the zombies in that movie, would make a cripple sprint, with the speed they moved ! LOL As it was a model from his collection, really wanted to give it as much character as possible, and something Bryan would have liked.
DeleteBrilliant! Love what you've done here Dave, so much so that I might just have to try and imitate your work - I've a Crooked Dice female "Bloater Zombie" that's the closest to the miniature you've used and has a slight resemblance (once converted) to the film's character. Top stuff.
