ARE YOU SURE

My last female for Fembruary is Gragra, you may remember her selling Gorg's in episode 1 the Phantom Menace, she is a Swokes species, so may not be the sort of female model you may expect ! LOL

While building this model, I thought I'd get a couple more characters done for Star Wars rebels, so started with Melch an Ugnaught, who works for Hondo Onaka, I used the face of Kuiil from the Mandolorian, as the basis rather than the cartoon version.

Then I got Ryder Azadi the former Governor of Lothal done, as he was a major part of the resistance on Lothal.

While I was at these, I thought it would be rude not to do Rex's buddies, so first is Wolffe

and then we have Gregor

I also got a quick conversion of R3-A3 from Iron Squadron done, which will go well with the Gooti model I showed earlier in the month.

To round off, I got an Imperial version of a KX droid done, I have to say the arms on this version have more detail than the ones I used on the K2 version I showed earlier.

Sorry there will be no posts next week, as I shall be away from my computer, and will have to catch up on all your lovely blogs when I return, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  1. O man, what a cool post! So much great stuff you packed in.

From Gragra to Melch and Ryder, I was just pleased to see so many screen references in these very well done models.

    1. Thank you Dai, glad you enjoyed it, do like to get my references right, still a few more to do, thought I'd concentrate on Star Wars Rebels first, then move back onto the wider subject ! LOL

    1. Thank you Suber, it doesn't always go my way, the one that didn't make it into this group, may need a strip back to an earlier stage, but will get there eventually.

  3. Great stuff Dave! It's so neat that you're creating so many models that would never see the table any other way - I mean Melch, how cool is that 😀 The rest of your Rebels lot is brilliant too, big fan of Gregor and Wolffe!

    1. Thank you Ivor, as Melch was the longest surviving member of Hondo's crew, he deserved his own model, and as he only held a blaster in one episode, I thought carrying some loot was more appropriate for him. Gregor and Wolffe were a must have, such cool characters.

  4. Miniatures look great. I’m gonna have to brush up on my Star Wars if I’m going to continue to follow along with your blog. I don’t recognize any of them. Lol 😀

    1. Thank you Stewart, will always try to give details from where they came from, so if you want to watch what they were in you can, or if you prefer a bit of reading, type their name into google and Wookipedia will give you their history, or just enjoy the models ! LOL

  5. Great stuff, Dave! I'm wondering if you really do have a checklist of named Star Wars characters somewhere, furiously ticking them off as you smash your way through them all!

    1. Thank you Azazel, no list, unless you count the one in my head ! LOL Whenever I watch the films or series I make a mental note of characters that would be cool to add in, that would add something new to the game, so currently I'd like the other two members of Iron Squadron, and Vizago, and have found a 3D print of Azmorigan.

  6. More great conversions and painting, though to be fair you are getting so obscure now I don't recognise any of them myself! 😀

Good job you post the reference photo's too.

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, 3 are actually scratch builds ! LOL You have to thank Joe for the reference, as quite a while ago he mentioned he knew nothing about what I was posting, which made me think I needed to include more information that didn't know what I was posting ! LOL Probably got some even more obscure ones later this year, so will remember to put up the relevant information.

  11. Christ, Dave, Gragra looks bloody terrifying! And what's this "Phantom Menace" you refer to? I've never heard of a Star Wars movie by that title...

Great work on all of these, your scratch builds are every bit as good as commercially available figures. Excellent painting makes them look even better.

    1. Thank you Matt, not a prequel trilogy fan then ! LOL As the characters can be quite well known, I need to make the models at least resemble the reference material ! LOL

  12. I'd have to say the first lady steals the show, Dave! Really nice job with her gruesome self. That's not to say the other finished minis aren't great too. It looks like you've been staying busy with Star Wars minis. I guess there are some more background characters to be sculpted and painted yet! :D

    1. Thank you Jeff, there is a lot of character to Gragra, who appears for only a few minutes, and her backstory on Wookiepedia is quite in depth. Always finding more characters to add, and then we get to the really obscure ones ! LOL
