ANN'S NEGLECTED MODELS CHALLENGE ROUNDUP

To make life easier for Ann for her challenge roundup, I've collected all the models into one post for her. Not to just show what I already have done already, I have 4 more models to show first. First up is the first Landspeeder Tsunami, that has been sat waiting for far too long to have colour.

Next is a unit of basic landspeeders that I have modified for the sleeker style I prefer.

I had hoped to finish my last large flyer for my chapter, but ran out of one of the colours, I had ordered with time to spare, but still waiting on delivery of the paint, oh the joys of Covid ! LOL

The rest are the Battlefleet Gothic ships I have shown over the last month.

That's all for this post, next time will probably be some weird wild west pieces. So until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  1. Very nice Speeders Dave! Especially like the tail art on the Tsunami, gives it lots of character.

    1. Thank you Dai, wanted a nod to the style of the mark 2 speeders, and steer away away from the bumper cars look of the mark 3's

  2. Corking stuff Dave. I especially like the pink on the Chaos battlefleet gothic ships. Great posting of all your work for Ann's challenge.

    1. Thank you Simon, I think if I'd done pink with black edging it would have been overpowering ! LOL

  3. Excellent work, Dave! For a second I thought the top landspeeder was Epic scale and could not believe you'd painted that design on the tail LOL

    1. Thank you Roger, once I stopped over complicating the Gothic ships, they were pretty quick to paint up, in hindsight I should have gone for an easier chapter symbol ! LOL

  5. Shame about the paint situation, but you've still anaged a heck of a lot.

    1. Thank you Joe, had to make a shift on what I'm working on, but it's not like I've got a shortage of different models to work on ! LOL

  6. Fab work always loved Land speeders. Oddly my faves are the very first Rogue Trader ones.

    1. Thank you Simon, don't have any of the classic ones unfortunately, but have been tempted by Forgeworlds version

  7. Good stuff. I like how you have the speeders banking and also the art on the dorsal fins. Was that all freehand?

    1. Thank you Ann, wanted to add a sense of movement to the models, and this was the easiest way, other than manually flying them round the room, making woooshing noises ! LOL Yes all the dorsal fins were freehand, really need to do a template, with so many more to do ! LOL

    3. The round up is much appreciated. :)

I think you succeeded with the sense of movement thing though I think in no way does this preclude you from doing the flying around the room and noises thing, which is fun though I remember when I first started playing 40K there was this guy who overdid it to the point where people would get annoyed with him because he'd slow the games way down. Still, I think judicious sound effects are all part of the sauce of 40K if not overdone.

Yes, I imagine the freehand art is a lot of work but it does add quite a bit to the effect.

    4. No problem on the round up Ann. I would have loved to play against Robin Williams when he was alive, the game might have been slow, but would have been a riot ! LOL
