Continuing on with the character models I got from Frank, I decided to make them into alien races, as this was a quick way to make the models look different from the original, plus changing the colours would help make them individual.
The first one however is just a different colour scheme, as a wookie is a little harder to change his look, the model on the left is the original one I painted.
The next one I made into a Siniteen, as it was just a case of removing the helmet and then adding the larger head.
For the next one I made him into a Aqualish, sometimes these are shown with two eyes, and others with four, I went with the four on this version.
As this model already had hairy arms I thought making him into a Gotal was a logical progression.
As this next model was originally Luke, I wanted something different, so went with an Abyssin, I used the Mandolorian version as reference, minus the combover.
Last today was a simple head swap, turning this lady into a Rodian, I've already painted a lot of green ones, so went with a blue version like I have seen in the cartoons.
The last model will add to my tally for Fembruary, but will have a proper post on Friday, with this weeks actual entry, so until then stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
Wonderful, imaginative conversions and very close to the intended models - supeb work throughout.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, luckily in Sci-Fi a lot of aliens follow the human form, so easy enough to change a head and become something else.
DeleteStunning stuff, Dave. Just awesome to see. I think 'Abyssin' Skywalker is my fave conversion of the bunch. But they're all top notch, imho.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, some were easier to come up with than others, almost had a weequay skywalker ! LOL
DeleteGreat looking star wars conversions and characters!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, thought it was a good way to use the duplicate models.
DeleteAs always these are brilliant, Dave! :-) That Aqualish is a mean looking character mind you - I wonder how having multiple eyes works when you're sighting a gun quickly in a close range firefight!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, I think the extra eyes would help increase his field of vision, so he may well be able to spot things sooner, all depends on how quick his reaction times are ! LOL
DeleteGreat job on the conversions! I don’t blame you for not changing the wookie. 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Stewart, there was only two species that I could turn it to, the Talz, and the large white creature in Rogue One, an alternative Wookie colour scheme was easier ! LOL
DeleteSmashing bunch of conversions! Love the alien choices and they look like they are just official alt versions of the original sculpts. (Blue rodian
ReplyDeletePremature “publish button” hit.. >_<
DeleteBlue rodian is a great choice!
Thank you Dai, wanted to go with some of the more unusual races, as well as a couple of the more well known ones, but more unusual colour schemes at least !
DeleteDon't worry mate happens to us all ! LOL
Great stuff Dave! Some fantastic conversions there 😀 always good to see some different takes on older sculpts to give them new life.
ReplyDelete*those four eyed Aqualish always remind me of spiders from Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, terrifying lol*
Thank you Ivor, thought it was an easy way to give these models new roles. Funnily enough I thought the same when I first saw the four eyed Aqualish, that it reminded me of spiders, but then I like spiders ! LOL
DeleteGreat way to re-purpose duplicates, so nifty conversions there mate.
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger.
Thank you Roger, simple stuff really, the hardest part was working out what aliens to turn them in to ! LOL
DeleteMagnificent work, all the conversions are really clever and effective. I love them all
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, as these were gifts I wanted to do minimal conversions to keep their integrity.

ReplyDeleteNice conversions, Dave! :)
ReplyDeleteThe clothing of the original of the Siniteen reminds me of Dr Zeus from the Planet of the Apes series.
Thank you Tamsin, indeed I can see that, it was the colours that FFG showed on his data card.
DeleteSuperb conversions and painting, Dave! The Luke one is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteThank you Matt, with thee the positioning of the model, I had to be careful on what species I turned him into.
DeleteGreat stuff across the board, Dave. You've really got a knack for putting together these Star Wars characters!
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazel, too many hours looking at reference material my friend ! LOL
DeleteVery inventive Dave & nicely done, & your right a Wookie is a Wookie by any other name 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you Frank, glad you like them, and they are rather distinctive ! LOL
DeleteNice conversions Dave they have all turned out really well!
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, simple stuff really, but adds some more aliens to my rebel contingent
DeleteThis is a really cool set of aliens! Its nearly enough scum and villainy to populate the cantina in Mos Eisely. Speaking of which, that should be your next modeling project, I reckon! ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff hopefully I got enough obscure ones in there for you ! LOL I already have almost all the denizens of the cantina done, just got some humans left to do, the cantina itself is one of the options I'm considering for Season of Scenery this year.
