TOP TO BOTTOM

Finally finished the first of my son's Ork's, so let's start with the boss of his commando's, now when he first got them, instead of showing him Blood Axe color schemes, I showed him all the different clans, and got him to choose a clan instead, I wasn't surprised when he chose Death Skulls, as his two favourite colors are green and blue. So to make this squad seem like commando's of the Death Skulls, he chose a uniform for them to give the sense of imitating Humies like Blood Axes do , so we have black trousers, blue shirt and leather pouches and webbing, added little bits of rust coloring to the metal work all over so it wasn't too clean.

Now to the other end of the squad, it's lowest members, first is a bomb Squig, my son liked the red color commonly seen with them.

Last up for the squad is the squads Grot, his skin is paler than any of the Ork's I'm currently painting, to show he's lower class to the rest.

I've also based up Leonardo de Grot that I painted a couple of years back for my son, who seems to be the culprit for the graffiti on the back of the building.

Only 9 more to finish, and thankfully I'm down to the leather work on all of them, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun.

Cheers Dave

  2. Those are some cool sculpts and I really like the acid-washed denim look to his shirt. That Grapple-Grot is a sweet fig too, loads of dynamism in that pose.

  3. Wow! Some very patient paintwork on show here, Dave - those figures look absolutely packed full of detail, with the exception of your splendid Leonardo de Grot.

  5. Greenskins, Excellent. That's a great start to the gang. The different shades of green is a great idea.
Leonardo is great fun, and seems to have a surprisingly good grasp of spelling!

  6. Great work on the Orks, Dave! I'm so used to seeing Star Wars on this venerable blog that I'm not sure what to do with myself now that you're working on orks! Your son chose a great color scheme for his army and you are very kind for helping him get his army painted up.

    1. Thank you Jeff, I could happily do Star Wars all year long, but there will always be time when other things need to take priority, especially if one of my children ask for help ! LOL It was important he had involvement with the models, so he would take ownership of them.
