BAD BATCH

One of my favourite groups added in the Clone Wars was the Bad Batch, or clone force 99, these were clones that were considered defective, as they were different but had traits that were considered desirable.

First we have Hunter and Tech, hunter looked the closest to regular clones, but his tracking abilities surpass even technology. Tech is an expert in all technologies and has a vast knowledge on what seems to be every subject.

The next two are characters added to the bad batch at different points, first is Echo, who was once part of the 501 st, but was abducted, and later modified by the Techno Union, he is now as much circuitry as he is Clone. The other is the oldest of the group Omega, unlike the others wasn't given age enhancers so grew at a normal rate, and has an unusual blood that can help with a medicloryant count (jedi potential)

The last two models are originals of the group, so why do them last, I was really disappointed with these two sculpts, first is Wrecker who is the groups muscle, and also a lot bigger than everyone else, unfortunately the model is smaller than the rest of the clones. Next is Crosshair, the groups sniper, the pose was really disappointing just strolling along, rather than in a sniping pose.

Glad to have the group finished but may look for a 3D print of Wrecker and Crosshair to replace the disappointing ones, these models have been sat on my desk since Christmas 2024, as I had been slowly been working my way through them until I was taken ill earlier last year, and just couldn't seem to bring myself to painting them again, until I needed a break from all the white I've been doing recently ! LOL

That's all for today, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  2. I don't know much about the Bad Batch tbh Dave. But if Wrecker is meant to be the group's stronghouse then I can see why you're disappointed in the size. Are these the official figures for Legion - as I heard the Orson Krennic figure was too large.!?! Hopefully you can find an STL of Wrecker which you like (and of the Sniper) in the near future.

    1. Thank you Simon, these are the official set released by Atomic Mass, as I held out on getting these characters for the official models, have found the right pose I'm looking for for both, but they come in a set, so still looking for individuals to relace these two.

  3. These are a nice change of pace from the white troopers, I would think! I don't know these characters or the show but they have a pretty cool design to them as well. So far in 2026, I think you're outpacing Disney on Star Wars content and that's no mean feat! :)

    3. ROFL when I said whitewash I meant painting all this white, but I guess it works for opinions on programs as well ! LOL

  4. Probably like that show more than Clone Wars itself. Excellent homages to some seriously well written characters. Totally see why one would be disappointed in the boring pose and size discrepancy in Crosshair and Wrecker (Respectively). Heck, even a pose of Crosshair just wielding his sniper rifle in two hands would have been preferable to this "Crosshair strolling off to the latrine" pose.

    1. Thank you Dai, enjoyed they're appearance in Clone Wars, and their series, as it gave some interesting information of what happened after the war. I'd held off on getting a set for the official ones, and they totally let down my two favourite characters.

  5. Really enjoyed the Bad Batch cartoon series, and these are great representations of them, though it is a shame crossbars not shooting and wreaker isn't huge. Cheers Roger

  6. I've been holding off on the Bad Batch box, and now that I'm seeing Wrecker and Crosshair, I'm glad I did! Thanks for showing the blandness (and poor scaling on Wrecker). I loved Bad Batch, especially the episode when Cody realized something was definitely wrong with a certain order.

    1. Thank you Grimmleigh's Fiends, I've wanted this crew since I saw them in Clone Wars, so was disappointed with the official set, I will find a work around in the 3D print market, to bring to the squad up to my expectations ! LOL That was a great episode, my favourite was when Crosshair shot the Imperial Officer, when he realised what the Empire thought of them.

Brilliant, Dave, but you knew I'd like 'em! You'd have thought they'd have made Wrecker a decent size - he's obviously bigger than the others on screen!

    1. thank you John, had a feeling you would appreciate this post ! LOL If it was just Crosshair's boring pose I could live with it, but Wrecker being the smallest of the clones just doesn't sit right ! LOL
