FIRST OF FOUR

Firstly sorry still no pictures of the aurora, having trouble transferring them to the computer (Stupid new computer, not having the buttons in the right place ! LOL) but will hopefully get that sorted over the weekend, but I have finished the first squad of Imperial troops a scout unit, these models are standard construction straight out of the box, the only conversion was turning a tree stump to a rock under the squad leaders foot.

Above you can see the squad leader, sniper and explosive's scout, these are different poses to the original Fantasy Flight Games models. Below are the standard troopers of the unit.

These were all painted using the technique I showed a couple of posts ago, so now I have two Stormtrooper squads and another squad of scouts to finish, so they should be coming up soonish ! LOL

I have some health updates today as well, firstly I've had the stitches out from my operation, and the wound is healing well, and the control and strength is retuning in my hand. This week I also got results from a recent scan of my chest, the fluid build up is reducing, which is great news, and hopefully means I wont have to be drained again, and also the cancer has not thickened or expanded since I started my treatment, to me this is great news, perfect would have been a reduction, but maybe next scan ! LOL

That's all for today, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  2. Scouts look the biz matey! Explosive Scout though should not be his name - he'll get a complex. Perhaps, Demolitions Scout would better fit? LOL

Super happy to read about good health news! Onward and upward I say!

  3. Really glad to hear about the positive developments with your health. That is always something to be celebrated! The scouts all look great as well. They might be my favorite stormtrooper configuration though I couldn't tell you why, maybe I just really like Return of the Jedi. The real question will be, can they hit anything when you use them, in-game!? :)

    1. Thank you Jeff, nice to be able to share positive news for a change ! LOL Being they are part of the Imperium I doubt they will hit much, but will have to wait and see ! LOL I like all the different armour that has appeared in the many different films and series, and is hard to pick a favourite.

  9. Hi Dave, I just dropped by to see how things were going, so really pleased to see your good news on the scan and arm, long may it continue, the northern lights looked good, were you in Sweden, I'm only going on the red house in one of the photos.
Good luck with the next one.
    Take care.

    1. Thank you John, I'm hoping this continues, as I've still got a lot of models to finish ! LOL They were amazing and it was in Finland, but really must visit Sweden as well at some point, as with many other countries.

    2. The models must come first :):) I've always fancied going to Finland, it's all the lakes it must be an amazing landscape. We drove up through Sweden last year, I was very tempted to turn right at the top but with the Brexit situation we just didn't have enough time. Norway was fantastic scenery, if you get the chance it's well worth going to if you like magnificent countryside, especially the north.
Take care and keep on painting, concentrate on the important things in life. :)

    3. First is time with the wife and children, then the models give me something to do when they're not at home ! LOL The scenery in Finland is stunning and Norway is on the list of places to visit, as I would love to visit the Viking museum there, so many places I'd like to go, and only so much time, later this year taking the family to their favourite place, and already looking at where we go next year, trying to live life to the full.

    4. Hi Dave, if you go to Norway for the Viking Museum it's closed this year and forecast to open next but check first because it was due to open this year and is running late. If you go to the same location there is a big open air museum with lots of historical buildings, it's well worth a visit, I spent almost the whole day there and still didn't get round all of it.
There is another reconstructed Viking site in Sweden at Foteviken which is well worth a visit if you're anywhere in the south of Sweden but opens later in the year. Denmark has some good ones as well.
Living life to the full is the only way to go.
      Cheers
