The immortal line from Admiral Ackbar in Return of the Jedi, this was the first movie that we met Mon Calamari, since then they have appeared in other movies and series, and given us multiple colors to represent them, which I wanted to reflect in the way I painted the 5 rebel troopers, the jacket and waistcoat I based of off Admiral Radasts crew.
The next three are another trio of aliens, a Togruta, a Devaronian, and a Snivvian from left to right, the heads came from the Swoop bike rider kit.
The last three for this squad are human, and the heads came from the Swoop bike kit, and customizable rebel officer and agent.
I've also managed to paint a unit of Jawa's that my children got me for Christmas, didn't include them in the construction challenge, as I just had to stick them to their bases.
Talking of annes-2026-miniature-assembly-challenge I've been busy constructing more of my pledge, I finished the first squad of Stormtroopers, and started the second, and also got the first squad of scouts put together.
These next two will count as bonus ones as I forgot to include them, a pair of IG assassin droids, and a pair of small probe droids that I'm going to put with the 7th Sister Inquisitor.

ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, you get 2 Mon Calamari heads per rebel squad, so collected them together for this one, plus having spare heads from other kits gave me some more options as well ! LOL

Well, you're certainly cooking there Dave! They look great. Zoidberg's squad look suitably insane as well. Do you get enough heads for the rebels so you can have the squads assembled as all-humans, or do you need to do a bunch of juggling? The Jawas look pretty cool as well - are they Legion models or prints?
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazael, You get six human heads with each set, so if you have a squad of 11 need some from somewhere else, they actually give a guide on which heads to use with which model, but since when have I followed instructions ( the commando's ! LOL).
DeleteThe Jawas are 3D prints as they have not released any for Legion so far, what I like about this group only three are holding weapons.
