Anyone who's followed this blog for a while should know I have the patience of a gnat, and so my best laid plans normally come undone due to my impatience ! LOL The latest to suffer from this is one of my Great Gnarloc's, the one with the weapon mount and crew, to avoid the other two falling into this trap, I've moved one out of sight (hopefully I remember where I put it, when I need it ! LOL) and haven't finished the sculpt on the second one, so they will be available for Monster May(hem). So onto the one that didn't last, I could have done another Quad Gun, but fancied using some spares from the Killteam box, just because the weapon looked cool, the crew were made from various spares, the back one was mostly parts from the Lonespear options, the arms on the front one, came from the Killteam box, but the body is one of the original carnivore box set, not the new one. the pelt and skull are based off of the Dark Eldar Clawed Fiend.
After finishing the model, I managed to find the Kill team rules, apparently the weapon is called a skinner, but has a pitiful range of 6 " but then so does the scattergun (shotgun to the rest of us) which in 40K has a 18" range so in my games I'll just increase the range to 18". Below is both of the heavy weapon beasts I now have.
That's all for today, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !
Cheers Dave
Oh, that's so great! I'm glad there are some other people just as impatient as me, XD But your results are awesome, and I also share that idea of "I'm putting this weapon here just because it looks so cool". Haha, I can relate so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, I was actually thinking of your rule of cool when I added all the weapons ! LOL
DeleteThat’s a really ferocious pair. Nice job. 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Stewart, wanted them to look intimidating.
DeleteThose Gnarlocs look very fearsome! Who needs to field Gundams and Mechs when you can ride one of those into battle ;) Those guns are huge and perfect for either Warhammer 40k or the Predator movie!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, indeed the Tau element nether really interested me, but a fearsome bunch of alien birds appealed ! LOL Yes they would easily fit in both realms ! LOL
Deletewell damn.
ReplyDeletea lot has changed from the last time i played 40k (lol, 3rd edition)!
they look awesome as hell though. great job!!
Thank you Mr. Martin, I believe they are now on 10 th Edition, I stopped buying at sixth, and now use my own set of rules, as it plays how I want it to play, and a lot more tactical, but why waste some cool models because I'm not a fan of the rules ! LOL
Deleteyeah I've seen several 10th edition videos and just not my cup of tea, I would glad go back to 2nd ed. or like u use a total different set of rules.
DeleteI think you nailed it there, play what makes you happy, with the models you want.
DeleteSplendid looking heavy weapon beast and nice use of spares ! I've no idea about 40k anymore, it's probably 20 years since I bought any figures, still I have plenty of 40k figures in the loft unpainted!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, I do like to use up my spares ! LOL Hopefully nothing too heavy up there to effect the structure ! LOL For quite a few editions it became you need to have a specific thing in a army list to make it competitive, like one time it was flyers, so it lost a lot of the flavour for me at that time.
DeleteKrootilicious
ReplyDeleteThank you misterc, now that's an awesome term ! LOL
