EMPIRE ABOUND

I have now finished Frank's wonderful gift, with the completion of the following units, although I still haven't thought of a use for the Darth model, but until I come up with an idea, I'm calling it done.

First up today I have 4 Emperor's guards, now a couple of the paints I painted my original 4 in, I no longer have, so had to come up with a new method, which I will now need to duplicate on my original 4, which isn't too much of a bother, as one looked different to the other 3 any rate.

Next are the 3 officers I got, I've done all 3 in the black colour scheme, as I'm currently looking for a better green that, matches the reference material better.

Last up today is the imposing AT-ST , have played with making this one a little dirtier, and now means I have quite the impressive walker force to populate the gaming table.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  1. Black uniformed officers are cooler in any case Dave - those are the Stormtrooper specific officers, not regular naval or army.

Liking the reds of those cloaks on the Guard. Nice and rich.

Yet another walker?! Those poor filthy rebs won't stand a chance. GOOD! LOL

    1. Thank you Dai, indeed and once you've found a good recipe, fairly easy to do as well, so glad I accidentally got Corvus black ! LOL
Once the robes had a base colour, they were coated with Flesh Tearers Red contrast, and then built up from there.
I know they have 4 to deal with now, a AT-DP, 2 AT-ST, and if they get through them an AT-AT ! LOL

  2. All these are excellent, Dave, the Emperor's Guards in particular look amazing in those reds. Nicely done, sir!

  4. The four emporer's guard are wonderfully done, such depth of colour to their robes! The walker looks like it has already seen action too, not just straight out of the factory.

    1. Thank you Joe, was pleased with the result, as it was done with some colours I'd not used before. Wanted to add some character with the painting on the AT-ST and a bit of battle grime was the easiest way to do it.

  5. Nice job all around. I do love the AT-ST the best though. They’re just really cool looking and you did a great job on it. 😀

    1. Thank you Stewart, the AT-ST is very iconic, so requires a bit more work to do it justice.

  6. More great work Dave, but come mate how could you not think of something to do with Vader? I seem to recall you making a death star at some point, well a nice little dirama of him on said station would work 🤔😉😊

    1. Thank you Frank, I know, I just want to do something special with him, not just get him painted, I could do him in Hoth to go with the snow troopers I have, so just need to come up with a decision ! LOL

  7. Great work all around, Dave! I like the Imperial Guard best. Maybe it is just the gloss varnish but they look pretty screen accurate to my eyes! :)

    1. Thank you Jeff, the gloss varnish certainly helps give the same look as the movie stills.
