Starting on my target for the latest challenge, I've completed my first unit of Daemonettes, these models are the plastic 3rd edition models, personally I prefer the second edition models, but they are now rather expensive to get on Ebay, so I opted for the cheaper option of the plastics.
The unit is numbered 6 as that is the sacred number of Slaanesh, and I have included a icon, and instrument in the unit.
Having finished my first unit of demons I then painted up the first of my new Star Wars miniatures Cad Bane. He is a bounty hunter from the Clone Wars era, and I really like bounty hunters so he was a must have ! LOL
That's all for todays post, there is still plenty of time if you would like to join in on the challenge.
So until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
Excellent post Dave. I especially like Cad Bane, as the Scum & Villainy aspect of Star Wars has always been its biggest draw for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, I do like a bit of scum and villainy ! LOL I think Cad's dynamic in Clone Wars is an interesting one, as he really does think of only himself when it comes to money, apart from his time in the box where he reveals he actually has a code as well
DeleteGreat stuff Dave! Another big Cad Bane fan here too, and my hope is that we actually get to see a live action version of the character in the new Book of Boba Fett series 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Ivor, with all the new series they're doing we could see a lot of the cartoon characters appear in live action, I heard rumours today that we may see most of the cast of Rebels appear in the Ahsoka series ! Another series Cad could turn up in would be Obi Wan as that is set between the clone wars and episode IV, so lots to hope for !
DeleteI hadn't heard the rumor about the Rebels cast, that would be great!! Zeb Orrelios in live action, yes please 😀
DeleteIndeed ! The little pop ups in Rogue One were cool, but full on interaction would be cooler
DeleteI'm with you 100% about the 2sd ed daemonette's Dave one the 3rd ed ones were also a good model & as par for you a great paint job on them.
ReplyDeleteReally like Cad the Bounty Hunter & thing he fit in nicely in an underhive :)
Thank you Frank, I do have a unit of the second editions, and a unit of the Seekers, as I'd done them to fit into my Emperors Children, it wasn't until the Demon list came out that I needed more at which point the 3rd edition plastics had come out.
DeleteCad is a cool character and would fit in with multiple settings as you say
Oooo, daemonettes. My fave kind of demon. I'm with you on 3rd edition Diazmonettes being the best, but I'll always have a soft spot for the original Realm of Darkness ones.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the bounty hunter too!
Thank you Matt, glad you liked them, and the bounty hunter to
DeleteNice Dave!
ReplyDeleteNice Dave!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mark
DeleteBoth (sets of) models look great! The Daemonettes look suitably creepy, and the bounty hunter is pretty cool as well. We just started watching the CGI Clone Wars series, though we've detourer to rewatch S1 of The Mandalorian and then S2 before going back to CW, since there are SO many episodes... it'll be cool to see your model when we get back to it, though! :D
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, using the purple wash on the skin really helped create that unnatural vibe with them. Can fully appreciate wanting to watch the Mandolorian first, such a great series, both seasons, would highly recommend the gallery series once you've watched it as well
DeleteVery nice, Dave! :-) Cad Bane's a great character - I enjoyed him turning up in Rebels as well (assuming I'm remembering that correctly)!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, I'm going to have to rewatch Rebels again now, to see if I can spot him ! LOL Not that I need much of an excuse ! LOL
DeleteAs an old git, I frequently get confused! I was maybe thinking of Hondo putting in an appearance in Rebels, not Cad Bane! Hope you haven't been bingeing on watching Rebels to see if I was right (take it from me, I rarely am and I have my wife's permission to say that)!
DeleteNo worries John, it's a series I quite often will put on in the background while painting, so was no hardship ! LOL Did you get the permission in writing or was it only a verbal contract, as certain courts don't except those ! ROFL
DeleteHaha! :-) Wonder why I'm laughing!
DeleteAs long as it's not one of those nervous laughs to cover the worry ! LOL
