Outside the cantina in Mos Eisley there is a brief shot of the 9000 Z001 Landspeeder, now I have been on the lookout for a 3D print, but have only found STL file pictures, not ones for purchase, so decided to use the Season o9f Scenery to make one for myself.
I'd saved a plastic dome which was roughly the right size to start the process, I then added the two front domes, and top vent panel with greenstuff, and the red line which goes all the way round the dome, and is raised in greenstuff as well. To this I attached a piece of shaped insulation foam underneath to give the basic shape, which I then gave a thin covering of greenstuff to smooth the basic shape.
Once this was covered, it was a case of adding the shapes all the way round the bottom.
I've just got the small details to add to the front, then I can paint the rest, and if your wondering why I've started another piece and not working on my Turbo Tank, well I'm currently relegated to working in my front room, while work is being carried out on my hobby room, and there isn't room for the tank in the room all the time, so working on some smaller stuff inbetween, hopefully I can get back to some larger bits soon. So until next time, stay safe, and have fun !
Cheers Dave

Wooow! Excellent work Dave!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the next steps!
Thank you Michal, already got the base layer of paint on it already.
DeleteThis is very creative and cool-looking! I can't wait to see it painted and I hope you get your hobby room back soon too. That does sound like an inconvenience!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, since built the cantina, knew I had to have one, and have been searching constantly, so in the end had to make my own ! LOL In the long run the work on my room will make everything easier and better.
DeleteThat looks great. Yet more iconic Star Wars.
ReplyDeleteThank you misterc, I've got another vehicle, that appears outside the cantina needs doing as well ! LOL
DeleteBrilliant! Such an iconic vehicle, I can't believe that nobody has made one, until now that is. Great start Dave.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael, indeed it's so iconic, and like you couldn't believe I couldn't find one ! LOL
DeleteGreat stuff mate, I remember that well, I always thought it was a left over prop from 2001, I know the Dino skeleton in the desert was the one from "One of our dinosaurs is missing ".
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger
Thank you Roger, there was a lot of recycled bits and costumes from many films dotted all the way through the movie, including the spacesuits in the cantina, which the yellow one later became the suit for Bossk ! LOL
DeleteSuper cool rando piece of scenery! Such a good project and I really like what you've gotten done so far.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, it's one of those pieces that seems to get left out of ranges, but is so iconic ! LOL
DeleteNice work, Dave! :-) A model that's not quite as simple as it first appears!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, indeed once you get the dome it suddenly becomes a lot of work ! LOL
