NOT MY FAULT !

The model today is really Roger's fault, which means the delay on getting my first Monster May(hem) post up is also his fault ! LOL The other week when I showed Jaxxon, Roger said was I going to do Amaiza, which was one of the others in the group, that Jaxxon was constantly trying to chat up, now before you see her, you have to remember it was 1977 and Marvel were renowned for not covering the ladies in proper attire.

As you can see high heel boots, short shorts and bra isn't really going to do much in the order of protection ! LOL

I have actually been working on some monsters, I've got 3 of the 5 claws finished sculpting on the Gnarloc's so hopefully they should be finished soon, the monsters I've ordered should arrive mid month, hopefully I have enough time to paint them. I have however finally finished sculpting a Gigan Brute, this has been in the background for the last two years, with the odd bit of work every now and then.

The premise I had was in the Alien franchise they keep using humans as the basis, but when you take away a humans weapons we don't fair well against predators, so this is based off a alien ape.

I've also started on a vegetation creature, I guess you could use it as a shambling mound or Fen Beast, this is going to be a swamp beast in my games, a creature that is made of vegetation, and as it walks around it picks up seed and spores which start to grow on it, helping it blend into it's surroundings, there will be two, with the same body but different arms and heads.

That's all for today, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  2. Han and Chewie's 'Magnificent Seven' story is one of my best early Star Wars stories, Dave, and you've done Maiz Foxtrain proud, imho. Your Ape Alien looks absolutely splendid too, and I'm looking forward to seeing both it and the shambling mound finished - definitely a bit of Krynoid in the later. LOL!!

  4. There is certainly a lot of variety in this post! Those sculpts look very nice indeed. I can really see the Aliens influence like you mentioned. Each of these minis is certainly a change of pace from Ewoks and walking carpets! :)

  5. Hmm, I hope she's not going out dressed like that. Great painting though.

Love the Alien brute, how big is it? Is that a 40mm base?

And really interested to see how that Not Fenbeast goes.

  6. Ahh finally a figure I can relate to! 🤣🤣. Great work on her mate, I remember her from the early days with curly hair, though I think her cozzue was the same, she definitely had the big furry shoulder thingy. Are you casting her up ( is she one of yours even?).

Nice work too on the alien/ ape creature too.
    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, glad you like as you inspired her. the head and arms are Legion so no casts I'm afraid, this was the most complete piece of art I could find, so just went with the picture ! LOL
It's a bit different to the normal Aliens you see.

  8. Not all that familiar with Amaiza. (Probably blocked her out at the same time I should have been blocking out Jaxxon...) But your version looks like the art piece very well. Her name tho.... Bit rubbish? She kinda reminds me of Deliah Blue from the Legacy comics?

Alien Simian beast is an imposing bulk! How tall is the model?

I like the shambling plant thing. Are you going for a humanoid form?

    1. Thank you Dai, I had completely forgot about most of the characters from that story, until Roger mentioned her ! LOL Yes both are half dressed, not great attire for adventuring ! LOL
The Bulk is 60 mm tall, so just over 2 inches tall.
Human ish, the arms will flow rather than elbow joints ! LOL
