CLEAR THE DECKS

Before the start of a new month and probably a new challenge, I better clear the desk, before starting something new ! LOL First today is some pirates I got to crew with Gorian Shard that I got for Christmas, it's a small start, in the six we have two humans, a Cerean, a Bith, a Duros, and a Nikto brown, as a tying color each has a red sash or bandana, these are a 3D print set.

I've also painted up the two freebie models I got this month, another Ewok with a bow this time, and Doctor Aphra which John has been asking me to do, which I painted an Imperial assault version ages ago, but as this one is Legion scale, I'll use this as Aphra from now on, and use the old one as a Rebel, both are 3D prints.

I've also finished sculpting Swamp Beast B, just need some silicone and I can make moulds of both versions and get them on the site.

That's all for today, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  1. All of this post kicks arse Dave!

Those Pirate sculpts are super well done and that red makes them look like sci-fi versions of the "Cowboy Gang" members in Tombstone.

I've read some of the Aphra stuff and I really enjoyed it. She's a cool character and those evil nasty droids she runs around with are something else. Nicely done matey!

The Swamp beast looks right out of a Swamp Thing 50's flick. So cool and definitely my fav of the two that you've shown us.

    1. Thank you Dai, when I saw the pirate sculpts, just had to have them, was trying to get the same look for them that they had in the Mandalorian, but thought the tying red would help unify them.
Have her droids from Imperial Assault, so will be able to run all three, and really need to check out some of the comics at some point.
Wanted a lot of swamp moss on this one, which really helps capture the whole look ! LOL

    1. Thank you misterc, still looking for a set I saw based completely off of the crew in the episode, but these are a good start.
Hoping I can get some silicone in soon, will post up here when they are done as well.

  6. Strong progress all around here! I really like the scoundrels and the swamp beast but seeing another ewok takes the cake for me! The world's best and biggest Star Wars miniature collection continues to grow! :)

Well, if the swamp beast wasn't impressive enough (which it is of course) Doctor Aphra's there as well! :-) That's made my day, Dave! Brilliant! I've recently bought three of the Marvel Doctor Aphra compendiums and have been working my way through them (don't dare tell my wife how much comics cost)!

  11. The pirate scum look great there Dave - just right to be summarily executed for their crimes against Imperial Law! I still know very little about Aphra (she's supposed to be like an Evil Han Solo?) but I can certainly appreciate her... posing. Maybe I'll have to follow the way of the first set of figures here to find out more about the good doctor.

    1. Thank you Azazael, depending on the timeline remnant Imperials utilise Pirates to cause descent under the new Republic ! LOL Even though I had the Imperial Assault version of Doctor Aphra, most of what I knew was following up on what John had told me, so at some point I really must get round to reading some of the comics ! LOL
