These are my first completed models since the 4 th of July, bit slow for me, but hopefully I can start to remedy that going forward. First up today is a Kroot Trail Shaper, this will be part of a shaper court I do.
The model itself was a recent Birthday present, I still think that £25 for a single figure is too expensive, no matter how nice the model is. Stuck with my normal color scheme.
The next four models are additions to one of my existing squads, three of the models came from the Killteam box, and the fourth from a Carnivore box, trying to make each squad have a mix of these two boxes, and the original Carnivore set.
The launcher is only shown with running models in the instructions, but as this squad is more static I used one of the standing bodies. the only other conversion, was the bird on the rifle, as that's designed for another model, but I liked it ! LOL That's all for today, hopefully more soon, as I have another 36 Kroot to get through, so until then, take care, and have fun !
Cheers Dave
It's so cool to enjoy your work again!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber, lot's more of these bird folk to come, and maybe some Star Wars as well ! LOL
Deleteglad you're feeling well enough to paint. and you STILL paint better than me. 😁
ReplyDeleteThank you Stewart, it took a long time to get here, but glad to be back.
DeleteThese look fantastic, and I'm glad to see you getting back into the swing of things!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mick, got some conversions coming soon, so hopefully they will impress, and feels very good to be back to a resemblance of normal
DeleteGreat work, love the bird on the rifle!
ReplyDeleteThank you snapfit, the bird comes in the Killteam boxset.
DeleteIts not only meaningful to see some freshly painted minis from you but also really nice to see the familiar Kroot color scheme again too! It really is a unique and cool looking way to paint them. I look forward to seeing more of them as you get around to it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kuribo, it was good to return to a familiar subject, while I get in some practice after the total lack of painting. There is plenty more to come, as I've lost all motivation on my Dark Eldar army after GW's latest codex.
Deleteas usual these Kroots look amazing.
ReplyDeletehappy to see u back in the game.
Thank you Mr. Martin, feels very good to be back modelling and painting.
DeleteExcellent finish, nice to see you painting again, £25 for a single figure? You're not wrong it's too much!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain, missed painting over the months of recovery, so was good to come back to something familiar. That is one of the cheaper character models, I've seen some as high as £35 !
DeleteThat's a top paint-job on a wonderful present, Dave. But as you say, £25 is a lot of money for a single figure - especially when you look at what they would get you STL-wise on My Mini Factory or some such. Probably why I'm 3D printing more and more these days. Still with 36 more Kroot to go its not as if you're going to run out of things to paint for this army any time soon. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, I do like these colors, and find them quick to do. If I was in the shop, I don't think I could spend that on a single figure, which is why I put them on wish lists. One day I'll have to get round to getting a printer. All 36 are in varying stages of paint, to make it easier I've broken them down into squads to concentrate on one unit at a time.
